Chris had been in her apartment for exactly two hours and twenty-three minutes when Harley finally arrived back home at ten-thirty pm on a Friday night. The actor didn't hear the door open or close, simply paying too much attention to the TV to hear anything else. He only noticed his girlfriend was back when she opened the door to her bedroom and giggled. His eyes darted over to her and his lips curled into a smile. "Hey sweetheart," Chris said. "Hi baby," Harley replied sweetly, and with a sudden burst of giddy energy slipped her shoes off and jumped onto her bed on her knees.
"Well, someone's full of energy," Chris muttered playfully as Harley danced around, he sat up against the headboard and grinned at her. When she got close enough, Harley settled herself in her boyfriend's lap and grinned. "Hi," Her voice was tiny as she examined his face. "Hello there," Chris replied, running his fingers through her dark hair and smiling as her hand made it's way to his beard. "Mmm, I like this." "Do you now?" He teased, Harley nodded and leaned forward, resting her forehead against his. "I missed you so much. You are the most comfortable pillow I've had in weeks," She sighed. Chris' laugh rumbler again her as she cuddled up to him, tiredness taking over.
"You sure are a sight for sore eyes," Chris mumbled against her hair, running his fingertips up and down in patterns on her back. Chills traveled on a rollercoaster up and down her spine as he soothed her stress with a simple touch of his hands. "Why aren't you sleeping? Told you not to wait up," Harley inquired as Chris turned on his side and wrapped his arms around her waist, continuing his comfort. "Can't sleep when I don't hear your voice," He replied sleepily.
Harley didn't know whether it was sad or adorable, but she smiled nonetheless. "Want me to sing for you?" She ran her nails gently through his hair and he nodded against her, beard itchy against her skin. "Something new?" She wondered, he nodded again. There were sure to be red marks in the morning. "Yes please." Harley thought about it for a moment, wondering how she could tell him how she felt subtly in that moment.
When she settled on a decision, she began to hum softly, the rhythms familiar in her mind. "Oh I don't have you here with me, but at least I have the memories, I tried to make it through the night, but I can't control my mind." Chris listened intently and smiled at the sound of her voice, being so close and so intimate with her was something he'd only ever dreamed of. "I'm just thinkin' 'bout you, I'm thinkin' 'bout you, I'm thinkin' bout you. I'm just thinkin' 'bout you, I'm thinkin' 'bout you, I'm thinkin' 'bout you."
His breathing began to get heavier and Harley's voice got softer and more soothing as she held him. "Baby I don't want no one no one else, so hurry 'cause I need some, need some, need some help. And I've been waiting patient, patiently. 'Cause I don't have you here with, here with, here with me. But at least I have, the memory." She grinned when she realized he had fallen asleep against her and she reached over to turn off the lamp.
As Harley let the warmth surround her body and begin to fall asleep, she felt a small kiss pressed to her head and a hand grab on to her own. She slept perfectly that night for the first time in weeks.
