Leon:

By the time I wake up, whatever sickness I had earlier was gone. Looking over at the clock up on front of me, I realize that I’ve only been asleep for three hours—it’s nine in the morning. Sarah’s parents still haven’t woken up, much to my relief. Wouldn’t want a girl’s parents to see some boy dozing off on their couch in their house, now would we? Wondering if Sarah’s awake, I walk upstairs to find her door closed but not locked.

Entering her room, I find Sarah asleep, lying on her side, legs wrapped around a pillow, arms hugging the other pillow next to her. The expression on her face was peaceful, less taxing. Twitching in her sleep, a small smile formed on her lips; my God, she’s cute when she sleeps. Just looking at her embracing the pillows made me wish that was me, making me wish she would hold onto me while we’re asleep and all that. As I leaned over, I planted a small kiss on her forehead in which she made an episode of her moving around, ending up sprawled about the bed.

After a slight moan escaping her lips, Sarah slowly opened her eyes to meet my gaze. My face at least three inches away from hers, I muttered, “I’ll be back.”

“Hmmm…” was her only response before going back to sleep. My God, she’s knocked out. Still, a smile etched on my lips before planting another kiss on her forehead and heading out.

Sarah:

When I wake up, suddenly I realize that Leon’s resting downstairs. Rushing down, I find the couch empty. What the hell? Where is he? Now I know I can’t be dreaming that he’s here; otherwise it’d be creepy and unusual.

I heave a sigh. What a troublesome person…I thought carelessly. Heading to the kitchen, Leon’s right there eating some Krave cereal. However, by the way it looked, it seemed like he went somewhere. Curious, I asked, “So…where’d you go?”

“Ran some errands,” he replied.

“Where?” interrogated I.

“Home,” Leon answered simply.

“Why?”

“I told you…to run some errands.”

“I mean, why did you go home to run errands?”

“Reasons…”

Again with the one word answers, I can’t believe him… Heaving a sigh, I shook my head, looking down with my hands on my hips. “Worried?” he asked with a smug smirk on his face.

Rolling my eyes, I responded in a condescending tone, “Like I’d be worried about you.”

“Okay…so not worried, but curious?” Sighing, I nodded slowly, causing him to smile.

“I’m just wondering, but if you went home, did anything happen between you and your parents?”

Leon stopped short of his actions, putting down the spoonful of Krave cereal. Giving me a grave expression, I could tell what he’s trying to tell me. “I don’t want to talk about it…”

Nodding my head in slight understanding, I veer away from the topic and ask, “So how’re your feeling?”

“Never better,” he replied cheerfully, imitating a British accent. I have to admit that the way he said it lifted the mood from its ominous tension. Even a smile crept up on my lips. “I’m just curious, but what happened during your fantastic winter vacation?”

Biting my lip at the memory of Seth kissing me under the mistletoe, I decide to shake my head, muttering an uncertain, “Nothing.” Truthfully, it must’ve really been nothing since it’s only because we were under mistletoe.
