Chapter Two

I closed the door, the air conditioning felt great.

I pulled my phone out of my pocket as my ringtone started going off

Climbing out the back door, didn't leave a mark. No one knows its you Miss Jacks-

I put it up to my ear

"Hello?" I said

"Clarity!!"

"Hey Blaire! What's up?" I asked

"I was wondering of you wanted to go to the beach with me today... like right now. There's someone I want you to meet!" Blaire said, I could tell she was smiling.

"Well. . . I need to study for my psychology exam tomorrow..." I trailed off

"Clarity!! Please, it'll be fuuun!!! Pleaaase?" She begged

"Fine! Pick me up around two fifteen?" I replied

"I-I'm already at your door!"

I turned around and opened the door, my tall, tan, brunette best friend stood there, grinning like a shark.

"Clarity!" She shouted, grabbing me and squeezing me in a hug.

"Hey there Blaire." I said as she let me go.

"Go get yourself changed!" she said, coming in a shutting my door before pushing me towards my bedroom.

I smiled and shut my bedroom door

"Purple, black, white, green, or red?" I shouted, searching my dresser.

"Ooh black! I love your black one. "

I pulled the black one out and stripped down.

It was a bandeau black top and simple black bottoms, I grabbed my tie dyed shorts and my 'Beatles' shredded crop top.

I grabbed my bag and yanked on my blue converse.

After brushing my hair out and pulling it up into a simple high ponytail I walked out.

"C'mon, lets go" she said

I nodded and walked out with her, locking my door as I went.

"Oh my gosh, you're gonna love him. He's my cousin and he finally moved in with me today! We have talked and talked about it forever but it just happened last night!!" she squealed "Oh I'm so happy!! This morning he went out with Lou and a group of friends to get coffee so we are having a beach party/bonfire thing to celebrate his arrival and it's my sort of late birthday party too!"

I nodded, waiting for her to unpick her yellow Jeep.

As she did I yanked opened the door, grabbed the handle and climbed in.

My phone buzzed

Heeeey

I smiled and replied

Hey there stranger

I hit send and buckled my seatbelt.

Im not strange :(

I giggled to myself

No youre not. You're really strange

I waited, Blaire started driving

"So what's your cousins name? I saw Lou at Starbucks this morning and I didn't really recognize anyone else so I might've already met him." I said, looking over

"That is a secret!" She said

I smiled

Not as strange as you lol

"What are you smiling about?" Blaire asked

"Just texting a friend is all" I replied

True lol what's up?

I quickly texted a response

Drivin to da beeeaachh hbu?

He replied quickly

Same!!

I looked out the window and turned on the radio.

'When I was in third grade, I thought that I was gay. Cause I could draw, my uncle was, and I kept my room straight'

I switched the stations

'I got your picture I'm coming with you. Dear Maria count me in'

I switched it again, tapping a response again

Ashton are you stalking me?

'Hello there, the angel from my nightmare. Shadow in the backgrou-'

I sighed and turned it to her CDs,

'Putting my defenses up. Cause I don't wanna fall in love, if I ever did that I think I'd have a heart attack'

Maybe...

I laughed and texted back

Creepy Aussie -.- lol

I hit send and opened a pocket on my bag, pulling out a pack of sour patch kids. Popping on in my mouth as my phone buzzed again.

Pretty American ;)

I smiled to myself

I think you should get your eyes checked if you think im pretty bc im not

I sent it and skipped a song,

"Our love runs deep like a Chevy. If you fall I'll with you baby cause that's the way we like to do it that's the way we like" Blaire started to sing

"You run around, open doors like a gentlemen. Tell me 'girl everyday your my everything'" I sang back

The jeep stopped and she turned it off.

"Just a little west coast and a little sunshine" Blaire sang

"Hair blowing in the wind loosing track of time just you and I. Just you and I" I sang back

I smiled

I legit just got here... Maybe you are stalking me lol are you here?

"CAUSE OUR LOVE WAS MADE!" Blaire shouted

"MADE IN THE USA!" I shouted back, laughing as I did

I just saw two girls just shout CAUSE OUR LOVE WAS MADE! MADE IN THE USA! dear lord I think thats my cousin

I gasped

"Oh shit! Blaire!" I said

"What Clarity?"

"I think I know your cousin!" I said

"You do-?" Blaire was cut off by the booming voice of her boyfriend, Lou.

"Blaire!! You brought Clarity, good! The more people the better!!" He shouted, lifting her up and spinning her around. He put her down and pressed their lips together.

I rolled my eyes. "Stop it. There are small children here you don't need to do that-" Lou cut me off

"Clare you may be small but your not a child you know you love seeing us kiss." Lou said, snickering.

I frowned "No, actually, I do not-"

"Clarity?"

I turned to the sound of my name being called

"Ashton!!" I exclaimed.

"Wait... you were serious about meeting my cousin?" Blaire asked

"Apparently so." I smiled.
