There was a wave of silence.
Me and Ashton shared a look of uncertainty.
"C'mon Clarity you said dare. . ." Lou trailed off and snickered.
I took a deep breath and turned to Ashton, "A dare is a dare" I whispered.
He nodded "I agree, so let's just get the dare over with" he whispered back.
We faced each other, slowly.
I took a deep breath, closing my eyes.
Our lips touched and everyone went into an uproar.
We pulled away, slightly breathless, and smiled nervously at each other. And the whole time I felt a little flutter in the pit of my stomach.
"Okay, Clarity it's your turn-" Blaire was cut off
"Holy crap it's almost eleven thirty!! I have to get up early tomorrow and its like a half hour drive to my house so I'm gonna have to leave guys, sorry." Peyton said, standing.
People all nodded, slowly gathering their possessions and putting on their clothes.
Blaire stood too, walking over to me, "You staying at my place tonight?" she asked
"I don't know. . . I have my psychology exam tomorrow and I have to get Pickle and Plum from my brother tonight so-" I was cut off by Blaire
"Oh you have to stop by your house anyway, we can stop by Austen's house on the way to get Pickle and Plum." She said.
"Fine. But I'll have to call off work because I have to study." I said, standing and brushing off the sand.
She started cleaning up the cans that scattered the beach as I pulled my shirt on and shoved my shorts and converse into Blaire's big beach tote.
I pulled my bag onto my back and started to help clean up, all the whole I had my phone in my hand and was calling my older brother.
A classical tune was his ring back tone.
He picked up "Hey Clarity! What do you want?" he said
"Pleasant as always" I grumbled "I'm gonna be over to pick up Pickle and Plum ?soon, is that good with you?"
"Yeah, you know I'm usually up past two anyway. Wow it's not even midnight, you are you with?" he asked
"Just a couple friends."
"Blaire?" he asked
"Yep..." I trailed off
"There's another person?" he stated, questioningly.
"Yep..."
"Who?" he quizzed
"Blaire's cousin, who just flew in from Australia last night" I stated "Well I shall be there soon, bye"
I hung up, not wanting to deal with a speech about boys if he found out that Ashton would be with us.
Ugh. Brothers.
Suddenly I was tossed over someone's shoulder.
"Ahhh there's a booty in my face!!" I shouted, laughing.
"A very nice booty!!" A familiar Australian accent said.
"Ashton!! Let me down!" I said, giggling like a schoolgirl.
Oh my gosh, why am I giggling so much?
He pulled me down, holding me now like a child.
"Hello there!" he said, smiling widely.
"Hey-o" I smiled at him as he let me go, drooping me nice onto the sand.
Blaire came running over, "C'mon lets go. I don't feel like talking to Lou right now."
I gave her a questioning look, "O-kay lets go. "
We all walked to her yellow Jeep, silently.
I pulled open the back door.
"What do you think your doing?" Ashton said.
"Getting in the car...?" I asked, confused.
"No no no no, ladies sit up front." He said, pushing me forward and opening the front passenger door.
