"Ciara, wake up." I slowly blinked open my eyes to see Kylie standing over me. With a groan, I rubbed my eyes to fully awaken.
"What is it," I asked her. She giggled. I stared at her confused but I couldn't help but smile at the sound of her. "You're late, we're late for school. I didn't mean to sleep here, I heard your aunt leave a bit ago and woke up."
I glanced over at the living room clock. 10:20 a.m. "Oh, I'm sorry Kylie. I didn't mean to make you late. Usually I wake up before my alarm." I looked at her apologetically.
"Don't worry about it. We can skip school for today if you want." She smiled her breathtaking smile. "Go and do something fun, you know?" She was still smiling as she looked at me and I felt my heart rate increase as a smile crept onto my face.
"Okay," I say simply, "but first I need to shower and change."

Kylie walked with me. She didn't ask why I wouldn't get in her car, she just followed as I walked and eventually we fell into step beside each other. "I was thinking we could go to the mall. I didn't bring any of my make up with me because I hadn't planned on staying over, but I'm running low anyway," she said, breaking the silence. We had both showered at my house and I'd let her borrow some of my clothes. She wore one of my black tank tops covered by a gray sweater with light blue skinny jeans that made her butt look really good. Her hair was still wet, but it fell gracefully down her back to her hips. She was all around beautiful and I couldn't help but stare. "Yeah no problem, it just may take a bit to get there," I replied.
A few more minutes of silence passed before I spoke again. "Kylie, I was thinking about what I told you last night and I think I know what I want to do." She looked at me with interest and gave me her full attention. "I want to be with you."
She smiled wide and stopped walking to wrap her arms around me tightly. "Really," she asked me, slightly pulling back so she could see me. I nodded. "You make me really happy and I love being with you. I love spending time with you no matter what we're doing and I want to make you feel the way you make me feel." Kylie looked intently into my eyes as if she were studying how sure I was about my decision, then she kissed me. Our kiss was interrupted by a ringing of a bell as a man on a bike sped up toward us. We jumped back on opposing sides of the sidewalk barely missing the collision with the cyclist. After he passed I looked over at Kylie and we both laughed. As we continued to walk I took her hand and kissed her cheek.
This could work, maybe I could open up to love again. Maybe this time I won't be hurt again.
