The boy Logan, between laughs, said,"Aw don't be mad, we're just messing with you," his arm was wrapped around Rachel.
"I'm not mad," I replied although I slitted my eyes at Adam. He suddenly found his shoes very interesting, and I rolled my eyes.
"Look this is extremely interesting and all but let's go."
This was the first time I'd heard Belle speak, and I decided she had an attitude problem. Again, she was next to Eloise who was gazing into the forest seemingly apathetic to the whole exchange. Belle then started to walk off and the rest began to follow.
"Sorry about scaring you, I tried to tell them it was a bad idea," Adam apologized.
Any irritation I had towards him faded and a smile formed on my face, "Don't worry about it."
Rachel laid a few blankets in the lush grass and began to put various candies out, "Beautiful."
I tried to hide my smile, I couldn't help it, she was well, strange. Not necessarily in a bad way, in fact, more in a way that drew people in. Logan plopped down beside her and kissed her cheek, he looked at her, then stole her words, "Beautiful."
I almost expected a collective "aww" from the crowd like in those classic cheesy shows. Of course that didn't happen. It made me wonder how many sweet little things are whispered each day and go unnoticed by the masses.
We all then found ourselves sitting, facing each other on the blankets, surrounded by immense amounts of towering trees. Observing the group I suddenly felt self conscious. For I'd never been around more beautiful beings in my life, and the oddest part was that their beauty was completely and unarguably different from one another. The closest I could come to describing Belle's looks would be stunning. She's the girl that could tell you to fūck off and you still would beg for her attention.
Rachel was the girl next door. Her light brown hair was in braids and she had a face that automatically made one think she was immensely kind. Logan had the same warmness about him, and I think that's why they work. I figured one day they met and just decided to be pleasantly excellent together.
Adam was a sunny day and Vincent was a stormy night. His jaw and cheeks bones were sharp and his hands were cut and bruised. He was clearly devastatingly attractive in a cruel way that screamed "don't mess with me". I assumed his knuckles were from the people that decided to test that.
Eloise had a distinct look like she wasn't quite there. She was the girl you saw in your dreams. The dreams where you're surrounded by variegated, hazy flowers and trees, and you can see her but just barely because the sunlight keeps blocking your vision. That's the only way I can put into words her look of blonde hair and eyes of pastel green and blue. It was hard to tell which color they were which contributed to her distant angelic look.
"So, where are you from?", questioned Rachel.
"California", and from saying it I could see the sandy beaches and picnic days in my head, they were far away now.
"My California girl," Adam murmured and slung his arm around my shoulders. I know we had only just met but he was nice, and handsome, and in the end it's just an arm and a shoulder. So, I let it stay, I let him stay.
Belle spoke again," Oh ok I was wondering why you're here, now it makes sense. You're Adam's new whorė."
I was offended to say the least. I was going to defend myself but, Adam started off before I could, "You know what Belle?"
"What?" She retorted sarcastically which only further upset Adam.
"You are a bítch that just always has to try to ruin everything good for me!," he was rather dramatic and ended up standing and pointing at her.
Vincent was now laughing which I found aggravating. He hadn't said a word the whole night and was now all giddy about them fighting.
Eloise began to giggle as well and suddenly all of them were cracking up, including Adam and Belle. I was utterly confused. The group then commenced in their civil conversations, seemingly having forgotten the argument. I however was resentful. She called me a whorė! I was not going to hang around people who thought that was okay.
I got up quietly and sped in the direction of the entrance. No one called my name so I'm assuming they didn't notice, or maybe they just didn't care. I finally reached the entrance and when I turned the corner I sprinted all the way home. I wanted to crash through my front door but I knew my mom was probably sleeping, it had gotten late. Instead, I gently opened the door and crept silently to my room before passing out in bed.
