"Why won't it stop snowing?" Tyler says with a sigh.
Josh can't think of some sort of explanation so he just blankly replies with "yep."
Tyler doesn't hear him so he continues to longingly look outside the fogged window.
"HEY! Tyler. We've been bored all week moping around and doing nothing."
"........" Tyler doesn't know what he's going to have the do but he can't guarantee it's 100% safe.
They throw on their shoes and Josh drags Tyler to the forest with him. About 15 minutes into walking and 1 five minute stop when Tyler freaked out and thought he saw some bananas. They were there. A run down, damp tree house.
"How-how did you find it?" Josh says nothing as he scopes around the tree for the ladder. Once he found it he points Tyler toward it. Tyler hadn't climbed a tree since he was ten. Josh followed him up the ladder.
"Tyler?" Josh looks down at the floor then up at him.
"Have you ever wondered.....what it's like to.....uhhhhhh"
Tyler immediately looks into Josh's eyes, wondering where this is going.
Josh still stuttering, changes his question"Hey, can you pass me the notebook over there?"
Tyler has an intense gaze into his eyes but it's broken by Josh looking at him, waiting to receive the notebook.
"Oh! ok." Tyler hands Josh the blue striped notebook, their fingers touch. They both quickly pull away and look somewhere else.
"How long did it take for you to find the house."
"Not long, just all of summer and a 3 month wait for it to stop raining and start snowing" Josh awkwardly fiddles with the rings on the notebook side.
"TYLER" Tyler's mom calls for him off in the distance.
He looks outside the hole in the tree house wall. "Well....tomorrow's my birthday, we know how my family feels about you so I'll make up some excuse to leave and we'll meet here. Two o'clock. Don't forget. Okay?"
Josh excitedly echoes back "okay."
