"We live in such a small world, huh?" Brett says looking at me through the rear view mirror. "We sure do," I can't help, but to laugh. "I like your family, they are good people." He says giving my hand a kiss. Why can't you have both hands on the wheel? It makes me so nervous. "They sure are. I absolutely adore your family. Very great people. Can't wait to see them again," I say with a smile, I actually mean it. My phone starts to vibrate and I answer, it's Tasha. "Hey," I say into my phone. "When are you coming home? Want me to still look after Milo?" Tasha says. Oh no, I had completely forgot about Tasha and Milo. My heart sinks and I just want to cry. What kind of a person am I? I just want to scream and cry. "I'll go pick him up, I'm staying over again," I fight the urge to cry. "No, it's alright. I'm just asking, I can look after him." She says. "No Tasha. It's alright, I miss you. I need to see you. Where should I pick him up?" I look at Brett through the rear view mirror and he's concentrated on the road ahead. "I'm at my place, actually. Pick him up here." She sounds a bit worried. "Alright," I say. "Are you alright?" She says. "I'm alright, more than alright," I take a look at Brett and he's looking at me. Eyes on the road! I'm already nervous with you driving with one hand. "Justin, I am here if you need me." She is using her I-really-mean-it tone and I know she means it. "You're a great friend," I say. A tear rolls down my face and I look at Brett through the rear view mirror. His eyes are fixed on the road. Thank god he can't see me. "Alright, I will see you in a bit," she says and the line goes silent. "Tasha's place," I say and I give Brett her address.

"God, I missed you so much," I say to Tasha. "We are officially dating," I whisper in her ear. We are both hugging each other and probably suffocating Milo. "Take the cat, let me talk to him." Tasha says, handing me Milo. "Tasha, we meet again." Brett says and they walk off further down the driveway. Tasha is giving him the usual lecture. To take care of me and so on. Milo purrs in my arms and I hug him to my chest. "I missed you so much, I am such a bad owner for forgetting about you. Forgive me," I whisper to him. Milo purrs again and rests his head on my arm. Tears pool down my cheeks and my lip trembles, I try not to burst out crying. I quickly wipe away the tears with my free hand when I see Brett and Tasha walking to me. "Everything is all good," Tasha gives me her it's-going-to-be-okay smile. "Well, time to go," Brett says holding out his hand, I take it. Tasha gives me a quick hug "you are going to be alright," she whispers in my ear, I nod. "Thanks for taking care of this little devil!" I yell as I get in the car. Tasha waves and closes the door behind her.

"What did my sister tell you?" I ask Brett as we stop at a red light. "Your early teen troubles due to how bad everyone treated you," he says squeezing my hand. "Brett, everyone was giving you shit today because of me. First my sister and now Tasha. I'm so sorry," I say looking at him though the rear view mirror. "Don't apologize. They are only looking after you," he says giving my hand a squeeze. "I will never treat you like the rest. I will treat you like my king and my king only. I will lay my world at your feet. I just know you're the one," he says and I know he means it. My heart sinks for the millionth time and I fight back tears. "I feel the same way about you," I say, freeing my hand. I reach over and place my hand in his chest, feeling his beating heart. "Mine," I whisper. "All yours," he says and the light turns green.
