Demetri...
I thought hard and long about what Layla said about talking to my mom, but my mom wouldn't talk to me unless I stopped dealing. Money is flowing in. Since, I know once my boss is dead, which is likely to be soon. I am basically next in line he says I am the one he 'trust'. When in reality I am the one who wants to take his place. So when we do move, I will most likely just expand, with more traps, drugs, and hopefully get more connections.
It was like around 12 in the morning now. While I was in the middle of making a drop to a crackhead. These guys from a all black truck jumped out running out to me. I tried to runaway but the crackhead gripped on my hand before I could go anywhere. When I turned around, I fell to the floor instantly. They kicked me until a deep voice told them to stop. Blood clouded my mouth. The guy was talking, but I couldn't hear him. I was going in and out of concious. He directed his workers to flip me over. I felt them rummage through my pockets. Last thing I heard was car doors slam shut and tires burning.
Layla...
I haven't slept since Demetri left this afternoon. Now its nearly one in the morning. All day I just kept reassuring myself that he's gonna come back home. I would make a mess just to clean it up just to make myself busy so it would take my mind off of the situation. I tried sleeping, but the bed just reminded me that Demetri wasn't here. I just laid on the bed slowly drifting off. Until, the phone rang. I felt around the bed for my phone.
"Hello?" I answered. "Is this Mrs. Davis?" "Yes this is..." "This is Harper University Hopital, we have your husband here under survailence." By the time she was done with the sentence I was pulling on a sweatshirt. "I'll be there shortly" I hung up and called a cab. When the cab arrived. I was thankful it wasn't the creepy cab driver I had that took me to the clinic. "Harper University Hospital please" I said quietly. "Yes ma'am" He pulled off in the direction of the hospital. I leaned back and got comfortable knowing that this was going to be a long ride, since it was on the other side of town.

During the whole ride I just kept reassuring myself that Demetri was fine, he just probaly had a few scars on him. Although, I knew that deep down inside it was more than that. I remember how Diamond would show no mercy to anyone out on the street. Sometimes I would have to remind him that I wasn't one of his hoes on the street, and made sure he came to me correct. I handed the taxi driver two twenties and a ten, and exited out the car, and entered the hospital. I walked to the front desk. "Hi, what room is Demetri Davis in?" The white lady smiled up at me and began typing on the computer. "First write your name here, then the patients name here please" She gave me a clip board and directed where exactly she wanted me to sign.
"Room 362" I walked to the elevator. Pressing the third floor. Right when the door was about to close, a put his hands in between the doors The doors opened again, and when I saw who it was my heart damn near stopped. "Diamond?" When the man stepped onto the elevator he gave me a weird look. "Sorry, I thought you was someone else." I said, and let my eyes wonder around the elevator trying to avoid his gaze. "You know you are a very beautiful woman" "Sorry I'm taken" Yes although me and Demetri wasn't officially together; his heart belongs to me and my heart belongs to him. No matter what. Especially since I have no clue what his condition is right now. I looked down at my phone, trying to ease the tension. This seemed like the longest elevator ride. In life. When I looked up he was inches away from each other. When he leaned in, the door had slid open for my floor. Perfect timing.
I looked around for the correct door. "358.. 359.. 361.. 362" I mumbled to myself. When I found the door. I took a deep breath in, then exhaled. I opened the door, to see a nurse attending to him. When the nurse realized I was in the room. She faced me, she rolled her eyes. Very unprofessional. "You are?" She questioned. "His wife, problem?" I really don't have time for fighting, and streesing over these hoes; and I definently can't afford to lose these babies that aren't even worth my time. "Oh so your wifey?" She raised her eyebrow. "Do I need to get another nurse?" She laughed. "I mean you could try, but half the women in here isn't really here to do their job. They are very unprofessional" That caused me to laugh. "So the eye rolling isn't unprofessional?" "I'm done here" She placed all the needles onto the tray. "Ring the bell if he wakes up" She said closing the door behind her. When the nurse was in the room I never really got a good look at Demetri because the angle I was in.
So when I looked at him tears were forming in my eyes, I could feel them. All types of cords were sticking in him. I couldn't imagine going through this alone. I know it seemed pretty selfish, but he's all I have. Right, when he was going to do the right thing, and work an legal job. Everytime I think about Demetri and I's relationship it just makes me think about all the stories my mom told me about her and my father. My mom was really a down chick. She said she kept me because she wanted to fill the missing void that my father never filled. My reason to keeping these kids is to please Demetri, because honestly I was never too sure, but never would I ever admit that.
I sat down next to his bed feeling against his limp arm. I realized that I never really knew for sure what was wrong with him, the nurse that was here never brought it up. She was to worried about who I was to Demetri. I could tell by the way his arm was limp he was in a critical condition. Wiping away the tears knowing that he could possibly hear me. "Babe were gonna get through this, just have faith. You're gonna survive this so we can go get real jobs. Stop living off of this dirty money that we've been making for so long. So we can have some sort of stability, for our little forming family. And YOU are gonna get things right with your side of the family."
