“Whoo are you?” She asked skipping over her worlds.
The woman started to pass. “I have not had a trust-pass-er in many years.” she looked at Jenny, she looked young but her eyes looked old. “And on the only night I can ap-pear.” Jenny hoped that this was just a prank on her she tried to move to the door but her muscles wouldn’t move she felt paralyzed. The flash light fell out of her hand.
The woman walked up to her. “You are brave and strong. You have been chos-en.” Her hands flew up and the mist started to circle around her the mist came up against her skin it lifted her up off the ground and started to spiral her around in the air. She wanted to scream her mouth was open but nothing was coming out. She tried to find the woman but the mist was to thick. It started to creep into her mouth, nose and ears and eyes. It didn’t hurt but it felt odd. Like an cold rush of air. “Do not fear young one it is not go-ing to kill you.” She said as the mist started to fade as it set Jenny back down on her blanket face down. She quickly stood up and looked around she could have sworn the lights were out, but she could see every corner of the room. Including the woman, she was less transparent but she was still there.
“Who the hell are you?” she asked jumping back against the wall. She grabbed her flash light of the floor and turned it on the light nearly blinded her. She quickly turned it off. Looking at the woman, how could she see? “How is this possible?”
“The pro-per way of ask-ing is who was I. I am Shel-da the Mis-tic.” she said stepping closer to Jenny. “You can see at night now be-cause you are a Chos-en one.”
“A what? What in the hell did you do?” Jenny asked.
“I gave you a gift.” She smiled.
“A really fucked up-- “ Shelda’s hand came up as she pinched together her thumb and pointer finger.
“Stop that. Chos-ens do not curse at one an other.” she yelled tilting her head. “Ok-ay?”
Jenny nodded, Shelda let her finger’s relax. “What do you want from me?” Jenny asked.
“I do not want any-thing from you. I just want you to learn and prac-tice.” Shelda looked over her shoulder “I seen that you have five more hours in this house and you need your sleep. So your new found pow-ers can set-tle in.”
“What are you talking about?” Jenny asked taking a step closer to her.
“Sshh come back here to-mor-row at six o’clock.” Shelda walked over the the window that faced the left side of the house.
“There is no way in hell I’m coming back here after tonight.” Jenny said.
“Oh I think you will. Come back when you think you can not hold back your ques-tions.” Shelda looked over her shoulder at Jenny. “Now sleep young one.”
Jenny’s eyelids felt heavy the sleep she had been fighting off for the past few hours started to over come her. She fell to the floor with a soft thump and she swiftly fell off to sleep.
