Maybe this wouldn't have happened if you just stopped saying things. Maybe if you never spoke to anyone, nothing bad would ever happen because of you.
So you stopped. You just gave up your speech, and just stared onward. You just stared down this dark path you were destined for.
They chased you everywhere, every town you went to, every state you crossed. You've been all over the country in 16 years. All fifty states and part of Canada.
And now you're here, in this po-dunk, redneck little mountain town, almost unknown to the world. Maybe here would be better.
You threw your shirt over your head, not even grunting when your hand got caught in the long sleeve. You walked over to a small, glass box, and opened the small lid. Inside was a necklace with a cluster of multi-coloured gemstones.
You grabbed the long chain and slid it over your head. The gems hung around your stomach, the cold chain touching part of your bare neck and collarbones. You then grabbed a small vial out of the box.
Inside the vial was a clear liquid. Since you noticed how tired your parents were of moving, this time you decided to carry a small vial of sulfuric acid. If they found you again, you'd kill yourself instantly with this.
You heard your parents knock, and you quickly slid a hat over your (H/L) (H/C) hair. You then sloppily put on some leggings and shorts, then some black boots. They opened the door, staring at you worriedly.
"Okay sweetie! We've prepared some breakfast for you, and when you're done, there's some change on the counter for you!"
You nodded in understanding, your mother running her hands together. You could see the sweat rolling down her temple. She seemed concerned about something. You shrugged it off when you're father spoke.
"And honey... Here."
He handed you a small phone with a black case. You took it in your hands, running your slender fingers over the sleek screen. You looked up at your father, confused."We've already set up your Facebook and Twitter. We want you to get out a bit, make friends!"
You could feel your eyes shine. You hugged your parents and quickly rushed out of your bedroom and to the kitchen, where you found pancakes stacked neatly on a little plate, maple syrup drizzled over them. You shoveled the food into your mouth, then grabbed the change. You rushed outside, looking around. Next to you was another red house, and then a green one. You didn't care to see beyond that.
You started walking to your right, seeing a bus stop. You sat on a bench, next to a girl you didn't know. You didn't care. You pulled your phone out, and opened the Facebook app.
You went to your profile, finding all your basic information had been added. The only thing missing was a profile photo. You looked around, then decided to take a selfie over by the trees.
You stood by the trees and opened the camera. You used your arm to cover your mouth, then put on the most serious face you could muster.
Setting that as your photo, you smiled and turned the screen off.
Maybe South Park would be better.
