"Where are we going, Doctor?" asked Lucy as she frailed around the Tardis. She had washed up, and changed her clothes, so she didn't look like she had been murdered then rolled in dirt. She was wearing black flats, black capri jeans, and a white and black polka dot shirt. Suddenly, the Tardis made a huge thumping noise. The Doctor turned to Lucy.
"I'll guess we'll find out." The Doctor grinned and grabbed Lucy's hand, dragging her outside.
"AH! SUNLIGHT!" screamed Lucy, for she had been cooped up in the Tardis for hours. Lucy looked around.
"Where are we?" She wondered out loud. The Doctor licked his finger, as if he was going to see what direction the wind was going.
"I'm going to guess, New London, and the year 2414." A man holding a newspaper walked past the couple. Lucy glanced at the Doctor and wiggled her eyebrows as she went after the man.
"IS IT REALLY NECISSARY?" Shouted the Doctor.
"Hello sir. May I see that newspaper you're holding?" The man gave her his newspaper.
"Oh of course! And you know what, keep it. I accidently bought two." The man said, and went on his way. Lucy walked back to where the Doctor stood.
"New London, 2420." The Doctor snapped his fingers.
"I always get the year wrong." The Doctor said, and looked at Lucy. But, she was still in awe over the newspaper. Finally she looked up.
"There's a New London?!?" Lucy exclaimed.
"Uh huh. A relatively new city, too. Only fifty years old." Lucy gaped. The Doctor laughed. He held out his hand. Lucy gracefully took it, and they started to walk. Soon, they got to a crossroad.
New London: Right
CharlesVille: Left
Lucy started going into the right direction when the Doctor stopped her.
"Where are you going?" Lucy pointed to the sign.
"New London, of course." The Doctor chuckled.
"Silly, we are not going to New London."
"Why not?"
"Because, I don't want to." Lucy crossed her arms.
"That is not, a practical reason. I might need a better reason." Lucy retorted to the Doctor.
"Now is not the time. There is a time for everything, and our time is to go to CharlesVille. Lucy stared into the Doctor's eyes, doing her best puppy face. The Doctor forced himself to look away from her eyes.
"Stop that." He said, hunched over to meet her eyes.
"Ugh, fine." Lucy dropped the puppy face, and linked arms with the Doctor, as they made their way to CharlesVille.
A little while later....
"How long have we been walking, Doctor?" groaned Lucy as she wiped away sweat on her forehead. Usually, England was usually freezing, but this wasn't right.
"Why is it so hot here?"
"Global Warming. You see, in your time, global warming was only giving you samples of what it was going to do. Now, four hundred years later, its a mess. Currently, it's winter right now. And the temperature is 124 F. You know the suits firefighters wear?"
"Don't tell me they wear those during the summer." The Doctor sadly nodded.
"Unfortunately. This planet, its dying, and nobody knows what to do." Lucy felt like she was going to die from thirst. She probably was, since it was 124 out. That's when she saw the town.
