4-Kayleigh's POV💗
Ive never seen such an improvement in Jake. I think being round him more often is benefiting really nicely. It's the summer holidays and we have about 4 weeks left of them now. Jakes missed most days of school apart from his exams which I encouraged him into sitting in the last 3 weeks of term. I see him practically everyday and I've managed to get him out after school 5 times in a month. It doesn't sound a lot but he's been at mine loads too so I'm proud of him getting out of bed and stopping to think so negatively about the bad side to life. I've bought him a present for being clean a month. It may sound stupid but I'm really proud of him and he deserves more for stopping for such a turn around. He's actually smiling which makes me happier knowing that he is not as depressed. My love for him is growing.. When he has time with the lads, I have to be near incase. I've texted him this morning asking to meet about 6 tonight at the park. The text said, "Meet me at the park near mine for 6?❤️" He texted back. "Sure. Thank you for everything this past month, wouldn't have got through it without all my friends especially you❤️" That made me smile loads. I put his present in a little box and tied it with blue ribbon, and put it in my bag. It's something he's wanted for a while but hasn't got. He deserves it so much. It's now 4:30pm and I get ready because I've had a lazy day today. I have a shower, I don't wash my hair because I washed it the night before. I straighten it and put on my blue denim jeans with my plain white crop top and my turquoise huaraches. I finish off with minimal makeup just to cover up and before I know it it's time to meet Jake. I grab my bag and head for the park. He meets me dead on 6 in the spot where we sit, our usual spot under this tree. We used to always come here after school and just talk, loads of us did but it stopped after a while. Anyway, we just sit and talk. Then I pull out his present. "Jake, I bought you something just to show how proud I am of you for going clean for a month." I say. He looks shocked and never seen him so happily surprised in a long while. I bought him something but I'm honestly a proud person. "You shouldn't have Kayleigh, honestly it means to much but you shouldn't waste your money on me!" He says. "I wouldn't call this wasting, you deserve it" I tell him. He delicately untying the ribbon, opening the box to reveal his present. A shocked smile grew on his face. Is that a good sign? "Kay! a proper vlogging camera! You honestly shouldn't have, I don't deserve.." He can't finish his sentence as he starts to cry, with happiness I hope. I move closer to him and comfort him, "You deserve everything you get, I promise you!" I say rubbing his back. He just keeps his head down and I see a couple of tears drop onto his jeans. "Oh, come here. Don't be daft" I say pulling him into a hug. I kiss his cheek and reassure him everything's going to be okay. I tear up myself because I hate seeing him upset that I try to laugh it out. He starts his camera and vlogs to tell his viewers he's just having a hard time and that I'm helping him get through it. We avoid crying on camera. Whilst the cameras still rolling Jake thanks me on camera for this and that it's the best present ever and he kisses me on the cheek. I end up smiling and Jake just posts it to YouTube when he gets home. We walked back and I haven't seen him smiled so much in ages. He texts me when he's home saying, "I can't thank you enough for this camera, you're the most amazing girl anyone could have but you're my best friend and I'm so lucky to have you❤️" I find that so sweet! I text him back with, "Aww you're so sweet, anything for you, you're the most amazing boy anyone could get in the whole universe but you're chosen by me to be my best friend. Love you too❤️"
