"There was this time that was after the war that just felt really... i guess blank? No one really knew what to feel after everything for a few months." Maggie starts.

"Was it the deaths or was it just Negan?" Amaris asks, eyes shifting from Maggie's eyes to mine.

"It was kind of a little bit of both. It just didn't feel all that real. I was full of emotion the whole time before, especially with everything with Abraham, and Leeann.. That was.." she stops talking and looks back up to me.

"What happened?" She whispers, almost as if she's scared for someone else to hear.

"That night." Maggie says looking over her shoulder at Glenn.

-

"So why are we going out here this way, again?" Glenn asks Aaron. They've been walking through the forest of trees that leads straight to the small town that is connected to Alexandria from Before. There's a small group of people there, everyone wanting to be out of the gated, much too small walls of Alexandra.

"Because it's easier to get to the town without drawing attention with cars. Plus this is just a run to gather, Tom, Harry, Eli, and Daryl i think are going to pick everything up with the van. Tomorrow. This is just to get it all together for them."

"So why is Daryl here right now then?" Michonne asks quietly,

"The same reason you are." Glenn says quietly before looking back at the hunter at the back of the group.

Michonne just nods because she gets it.

They fall into another silence as they walk, Glenn trying to not think about Alexandria. Home.

Aaron is the first to break the silence.

"I guess I'd have to say it eventually, but i never thanked you. Your wife for that night. It seems so long ago but.. if you ad Maggie hadn't been there Mia and Eric would have been.." aaron stops talking, shaking his head as they walk through the brush.

"I get it, i know." Glenn says, hands raising to pass through the brush of the forest.

It's quiet now. the sounds of nature very soothing around them. Aaron and Glenn share small talk about the up coming meetings. Glenn suggests Rick is going to get Jess' group to start taking supplies for her group back when they begin bringing crop supplies. Aaron replies that it is a fair trade and Jess' group is starting to become highly trusted amoung Alexandria.

No one speaks except Becca and Brit who are a few feet in front of Daryl who is in the very back. Glenn can just about see the town through the treeline. He hears Daryl's crossbow go off and everyone turns around to where Daryl is aiming the bow at the ground.

"Caught dinner." He rasps. He leans down to grab it. There he stands, one arrow through the eye socket of a fox.

"So soft" El says smiling, suddenly behind Daryl, petting the hanging animal

"Gross" Becca and Brit say, wincing at their friend.  El shrugs and Daryl watches her as she keeps walking, her footsteps speeding up to walk with Michonne.

Daryl staggers back and waits for everyone to pass in front of him again, he scopes the area once before he starts walking.

He's had an off feeling these past few weeks.

Daryl's been having the same dream for a few nights in a row now; but every time he finally notices what is really is, the dream, he wakes up.

A large crashing, going on for what seems like hours, a crushing weight on daryl's arm that he sometimes feels like is real. Loud screaming and right before he wakes up, a painting of scenery.
