It was the second day of training, and I decided to spend the day on swords and tridents. I switched between them on and off until the game makers called for the private session to begin. All of the tributes were taken into a rom to sit and wait. I was next to Brutus. We talked quietly, awaiting our turns. First Gloss was called, and I realized that boy tributes were going first. I watched as Cashmere went in, then Brutus. It was my turn next.
"Clove Kentwell." I heard the voice say. I stood and walked not the training room. It had all kinds of weapons. I picked up one of every kind of weapon and laid them in a pile at my feet. I put a circle of dummies around me, like I did last year. Then I began. I threw a spear at one, threw a trident at one, slashed one with a sword, and shot one with an arrow. I saved the last three dummies for my knives. I picked up a piece of fabric and blindfolded myself. I spun around ten times, and picked up all three knives. Thud. Thud Thud. It had taken me half a second. I took off the blindfold. I had hit every one. The Gamemakers looked shocked. I smirked and walked out of the room. I met Brutus at the door on the outside.
"How did you do?" I asked him.
"Oh, I threw some spears at some holograms. I'm pretty confident." he replied. "How about you?"
"Oh, nothing much. I used all weapons to murder some dummies. I suppose I was good, but you know that my true talent lies only with knives." i said.
He nodded in approval. We headed back to our floor later to watch the scores. Enobaria, Silviess, and Evulus wee already waiting for us on the couch. We turned on the television and sure enough, the Capitol Report had just started.
"Now, let's go to the scores!" Claudius Templesmith said right as we turned the Report on.
" District 1. Gloss with the score of 10, and Cashmere, with a score of 10." Caesar Flickerman said as their pictures passed over the screen.
"District 2. Brutus, with the score of 10, and Clove," he paused. "With the score of 11." Everyone cheered. I had received the highest score possible. Beat that Katniss.
The scores went on, and for a bunch of victors, I was not impressed. Finally, it moved to District 12.
"District 12." he said. "Haymitch, with the score of 11, and Katniss, with the score of 12." I screamed and threw a glass vase into the wall. I was perfect in every way in my training in every way. How did that girl manage a twelve. Tomorrow is interviews. Then the games. This year, I am more than ready. This year, I am thirsty for blood.
