I wake up to the sound of a crackling fire. Gloss has started one a few feet away from me. I sit up and see that he's cooking a dead animal.
"How did you kill that without any weapons?" I ask. He has lost all his supplies from the spinning cornucopia.
"I found your sword on the cornucopia. I've kept it since, but you can have it back if you want." He says, holding it up.
"No, you can keep it. I've got my knives, and you probably need it more than I do." I tease.
He reaches over and kisses me gently. "Thanks. Now that your head's better, we should probably try to thin out Katniss' alliance." He suggests. I hadn't even noticed my head; that ointment worked like a charm! We finish eating and quickly head in the direction the alliance was in yesterday.
"Watch the tress, too. Katniss has been known to hide in them." I scowl. Once we reach the spot from the Jabberjays yesterday, I realize that they must have gone far away fromm that area after their seemingly traumatic experience.
"Maybe we should walk closer to the beach, so that we have a clearer view of the arena if they decide to go there." Gloss says. I agree, and we head that way. I am following close behind Gloss when we reach the beach. Once he crosses onto the sand, I try to follow, but the invisible barrier returns. I wonder what will happen, when I see Jabberjays. I wonder what is happening, when I hear Cato's voice.
"Clove!" he yells. In my mind I know that it's the capitol trying to mess with me, but in my heart I can't resist.
"Cato!" I scream. Then a thousand voices of Cato scream at me.
"Help me! Clove! Together, or not at all!" I break down screaming and crying. Out of the corner of my eye I see Gloss on the other side of the barrier trying to comfort me in vain. I sit there screaming for what seems like forever. I don't even realize that it has stopped until I feel Gloss' hand on my back.
"Clove, it's okay." I sit there shaking with my eyes close until Gloss finally stands me up. I realize that I was there for so long that it is dark outside.
"I brought you some water." He says. I take it and drink it greedily. I stand up and take a deep breath.
"Let's go." I say darkly.
"Are you sure that you're okay?" Gloss asks cautiously.
"I will be as soon as I kill Katniss." I say. I stand up and finally walk onto the sand. GLoss follows me. As we're walking along, I see Johanna and Katniss with some type of coil not too far away from me.
"Gloss, look!" I say and we bolt over. They dart into the forest and we follow. I loose sight of them and hear Katniss yell. Then I see Johanna run and follow her with Gloss close behind. I dive into a bush and see Beetee standing at the base of a huge tree coiled in wire.
Gloss catches up with me and I pull him into the bush with me and shush him. I take the sharpest knife I have and slowly aim it at Beetee when Katniss runs over past us. Beetee falls down from a big crackle of electricity via the tree. Katniss runs over to him but pauses and starts screaming for Haymtich. She hear something and Finnick runs up. She points her arrow at him. GLoss suddenly looses his balance and knocks me out from behind the bush. I quickly aim my knife at Katniss and Gloss holds out his sword. Katniss turns and points her bow at me.
"Katniss, remember who the real enemy is!" Finnick yells. Katniss looks up at the sky. Thunder begins to rumble. She picks up the end of the wire and ties it around her arrow.
"Katniss get away from that tree!" Finnick yells. She shoots her arrow at the top of the forcefield just as lightning strikes the tree. A huge explosion erupts and the dome breaks. The explosion knocks all of us back.
I open my eyes and see a hovercraft carrying me up, and then I go black.
