I woke up first out of all the careers. The fire had died. I built it back up and skinned and cooked the two animals that Cashmere had killed. I then collected water in a big leaf. It was warm, but better than no water at all.

As I started cooking the other animal, which looked like a large cat creature, Gloss began to stir. He yawned loudly and walked over to me. He sat down and began to cut up the animal.

"Hey." He finally said to break the awkward silence.

"Hi." I replied.

"My best weapons are swords and spears, but I'm clueless when it comes to knives. I've seen you throw them. Do you think you could teach me a few things?" He asked.

"Oh, sure. When were you thinking of doing it?" I asked, surprised that he wanted my help.

"How about right now?" He asked.

"Okay." I replied, getting a knife out of my jacket. I leveled the knife up to my nose and threw it. I'd start slowly for a beginner. It hit a knot in the tree.

"The key is to imagine how far you want to throw it and put the exact weight that you want on it. Every time a knife is thrown, it travels three times it's length." I explained. "Now you try."

He grabbed the knife and leveled it up to his nose, copying me. It hit about a foot away from the tree. Awful. But I couldn't show that I thought that. I had to build a temporary trust with my allies.

"Not bad for a first try." I said through gritted teeth. I walked over to where the knife had hit, on the ground. It was all dirty. I wiped it off with my sleeve. He tried again like three times before he showed the slightest improvement.

"Good, good." I said once he finally hit the knot. "Now do it again just like that." He did. Three times in a row.

"Oh... Wow. You improved fast. You're a natural." I said truthfully. Still, no one had picked it up as fast as me. "Just practice and you'll get better. Exactly like that." I began to walk back to the fire.

"Wait!" He yelled suddenly. I turned around. "I don't exactly know what to do with my hand."

"Umm... Okay?" I walked over to him and grabbed his hand. " You turn your hand like this and rotate it here for you release point." I guided his hand and the knife hit the tree. "See? It's easy." I turned to look at Gloss, and he was looking at me. He took a step closer to me.

"You know, Clove. You have beautiful eyes." He whispered. He leaned in to me.

"I have to go practice." I interrupt quickly and walk briskly away. I notice that Cashmere had woken up and was watching us.

What did all of this mean? Should I have kissed him? Would it be rude to be with someone else so soon? What if this was my second chance? Cato would've wanted me to be happy.

I quickly shook these thoughts out of my head. The games weren't about happiness, they were about revenge. I had to kill Katniss before I moved on. This would all just have to wait until I finish what I came for.
