The rest of the 'date' as Ivan calls it was uneventful, thankfully. I don't think I would have been able to deal with any more drama without losing it. When the hell did my life become a daytime soap opera? Seriously, what happened? Oh yeah. . . That's right, my mate happened.

I honestly have no idea why he wants me to be his mate when there are plenty, and I mean plenty of willing people around to settle down with. I've asked Ivan but his reply is the usual sickly sweet answer that would make any fangirl squeal. Who knew he could be such a helpless romantic? Unfortunately, I do.

I groaned, running a hand through my wild, black hair. Ivan let me be alone in the guest room to decompress, while he did Goddess knows what. I sat on the edge of the bed, and groaned, clutching fist fulls of my hair.

Any flowers you like in perticular?

Those ones.

And what makes those ones so special?

They remind me of your eyes. The words had balanced on the tip of my tongue and had nearly leapt off. The flowers were a bush of green with small blue flowers, just like Ivan's green eyes with small flecks of blue. I ran a hand down my face with a groan. What in the hell was wrong with me? I don't like flowers, I don't want a mate. And yet here I am swooning over both, with still five months to go.

I wanted to spit and curse. Five months. Goddess, why? At least it was better than six months. Six months would have been an absolute nightmare. A small knock sounded, "What?" I called out. The door swung open and Ivan entered, making me want to roll my eyes.

"What is it, Ivan?" I asked, a little venom seeping into my voice but I didn't care. Not even when Ivan flinched at my tone. I. Do not. Care. Sure, say that a few hundred times and maybe even you'll believe it. Well fuck you Subconscious, no one asked your opinion.

"Come on, up an at 'em."

"What the hell are you talking about now?" I nearly groaned. "Our date."

"Another? That'll be another month down then."

"Oh, no. It's a continuation of our earlier date." He said simply, as if it were as casual a thing as the fucking weather. "Woah, woah, woah." I said, getting up from my seat. "There are no continuations. This isn't a damn tv show."

"Oh, don't get your feathers ruffled. When you take me on a date, you can set the terms."

That sonofabitch. I should have known he would find a loophole to exploit. We never did discuss what a 'date' was exactly. I narrowed my eyes on him, "This better not become a regular thing." I mumbled as I got to my feet, following him out of the room. He had lead us out through the backdoor of the house, mumbling something about not wanting to run into that skank Lea. I gave him a confused look and his face flushed. "Where are you taking us?" I questioned, smacking tree branches out of the way as we went deeper into the thick forest.

"You'll see." He said.

Bright light filtered through the trees, making me flinch. Damn, this was why I chose to move during night, not day. Sunlight is a bastard. I held my hands out in front of my face to help ward some of it off, stumbling over my feet. Ivan's chuckling floated through the air, it had a musical quality to it. I liked it.
