Victoria Hufflepuff: Year 1

My Wand & Evans?

          We had just came from getting my robes when I looked back at my required supplies, I looked and saw I need a wand. James and Sirius had been tagging along with me and so I looked over to James. "Hey James..Were do I get a wand?" I asked and as James went to answer but, Sirius interrupted. "Well Ollivanders of course!" Sirius beamed, "Yep Sirius is right! Only the best wand come  from Ollivanders!" James continued.

          I was so excited to get a wand, to perform actual magic seemed like a wild fantasy only books could tell. But her I was a real life Witch! And the only thing I need to help me do that was a wand. We walked the streets Diagon Ally and I saw all of the amazing stores, then we came across a shop that said "Ollivanders, Makers of fine Wands Since 382 B.C" wow that's one old shop..I thought. I opened the door and to the shop and looked in, it seemed to be empty..

          I walked up too the front counter and looked behind the desk and saw what looked to be endless stacks of boxes. "Hello?" I called out and from around one of the stacks came a kind looking man. He had curly brown hair that summed like it was fading too grey. James and Sirius followed behind me and the man greeted them then looked too me. "Why hello ether Miss Hufflepuff" he said as he took a closer look at me.

           "How did you-" I said but he held up his hand and went too grab a box. "You look like a Hufflepuff. I've seen many witches and Wizards Miss Hufflepuff, and I have sold many wands as well.." he said as he came back with a rectangular box. He opened it and examined the wand, "this is a 9 1/2 inch Dark Oak wood wand with a Phoenix feather core.." he said as he gave it too me too hold.

          The wand was light in my hand but I wasn't sure what too do, I looked over too my left and there was Sirius. He smiled and  got too my ear and whispered "give it a wave" he said and smiled. I waved it and a lamp broken into a very small pieces. "I-I am so sorry" I said and he just chuckled, "That's quite alright that's happens all the time, isn't that right Mr.Potter?" Mr. Ollivander chuckled and took the wand and placed it aside.

          James, who had been watching us, blushed a bright red and chuckled awkwardly. "Yes yes as I recall you broke three lamps with one swish" Mr. Ollivander continued and we all laughed. He brought me three other wands but none of them were the one.

          Me. Ollivander looked at me puzzled, then his face brightened as if he had gotten for an Idea. He went all the way to the back and brought out a really old looking box, when he opened it and there laid a light brown colored wand with a handle that had black vines going along its sides. Along the vines were pale yellow flowers, at the base of the handle there were two 'H's to symbolize initials.

           "This Miss Hufflepuff was the wand that belonged to none other than Helga Hufflepuff herself. It has been enchanted to grow Helga's flowers, it is a Maple wood wand....11"....and its core was made from the hair of Helga's pet Unicorn...it has a slightly yielding flexibility. In other words it has very special ties to the Hufflepuff family. And after all these years there hasn't been a Hufflepuff for her too clam." He said as he handed me the wand.

          As I held the wand, a surge of power went through me. Mr.Ollivander smiled and put the wand back in its case. My mum then came in and bought it and we walked outside, Sirius then went off somewhere and told us to go on and get my books then he would catch up with us. So "Victoria Me, Mr. & Mrs. Potter  were becoming a bit peckish, We have decided that after we get your books we could stop by the Leaky Cauldron. How does that sound?" My mum said and I was about to say something when James piped in. "Well I was thinking that you guys should head on to the Cauldron, and Toria and Me can go and get some books!" James said.

         "Is that ok with you Victoria?" My mum asked and I nodded my head in agreement, she smiled then left. "So Toria I have to get my books for my second year, do you think you can find your books on your own?" James asked as we made our way into Flourish and Blott's. I nodded and he smiled, he went in his own direction. I looked at my list for books.....

          I looked around for my books But I was having a hard time, I looked for James but I couldn't seem to find him. I was about too just walk out of the bookstore when this girl stopped me, she had long red hair and emerald green eyes. She had a soft smile, and was slightly taller than me. "Hello My name is Lily" She said as she extended her hand, I shook her hand and Introduced myself. "H-Hello my name is Victoria" I said in a sheepish tone, She smiled and looked down at my list. "First year?"She asked with a very kind smile, "Yep" I said and she went somewhere. After a few minutes she returned with a stack of books.

          "These are all the books you will need for your first year. Are you a muggle-born?" She asked and I looked at her with confusion, she smiled again and Handed me my books. "I will take that as a yes. I am a muggle-born too, a muggle-born is a Witch or Wizard born too no magic parents. Those are muggles." She said and I nodded in agreement. "You should sit with me and my best freind Severus on the train" She said. "Um, I will have to see if my freind James wants me to sit with him. He was my first Wizard freind, then again he might not want to sit with a first year"  I said the last part under my breath.

         "James? Would he happen to be-" She began but James came out of nowhere and interrupted, "Evans! Fancy seeing you here! Where Snivellus?" He said with a smirk on his face. This was a different side of James I hadn't seen before, well I did just meet him.  "His Name is Severus and you just missed him Potter" She said as she rolled her eyes. "Well it was nice meeting you Victoria. Hope I see you on the train" She said as she pushed past James and waved goodbye to me. "Bye!" I said as she left.

          "Well that was interesting. Well better pay for your books and head to The Cauldron!" he said as we payed for my books. We walked out of the bookstore, then Sirius stopped us, well me."Close your eyes and open your hands" he said and I looked at him questioning his request. "Oi! Just do it" he chuckled and I did as well. I closed my eyes and held out my open hands and I felt something soft and fury, it was moving too! I opened my eyes, and looked at the fur creature.

It was a kitten! "Sirius you shouldn't have!" I said as I brought the kitten closer too me, she was a beautiful black short hair kitten with some grey on her belly and chest. I looked at her eyes and they were a mesmerizing light blue, and she had a little yellow ribbon tied into bow around her neck.

            "Well James said it was your birthday and I thought I would get you something.." Sirius said as he smiled at me, the three of us began too walk too the Leaky Caldron, when my little kitten started to purr, "Sirius dose this little kitten have a name?" I asked Sirius. He shook he head, "I know what I could name her!" I said and petted the kitten. "I'll call you Zena..."
