"Unfortunately, the clock is ticking, the hours are going by. The past increases, the future recedes. Possibilities decreasing, regrets mounting."

~ Haruki Murakami

I started to flutter open my eyes, there was a bright light that blinded me. I felt as if I was laying on a a very soft cloud. I could hear the faint beeping of medical equipment, I had no idea where I was. All I could remember was being pushed from the astronomy tower and hitting the ground hard. Shouldn't I be dead? I opened my eyes, they were blurry. "He-llo?" I managed to speak out, It looked like I was in my own room. I sat up feeling like my whole body was somewhat still asleep. I got up and held my iv drip with me as I opened my door and looked out the door. "He-llo? Is anyone there?" I ask looking and a nurse sees me and rushes to me. "M-miss Hufflepuff! You're awake! Thank Merlin! Sit back down now and I will go notify your doctor and mother. This is truly a miracle!" The nurse says helping me back into my bed.

"W-what? Where am I?" I ask confused, the nurse smiled at me sweetly. "Honey, your at St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. You have been in a magically induced coma for five years. A few weeks ago the doctors stopped the magic keeping you in a coma and we have been waiting for you to wake up." The nurse said slowly and making sure I understood. I was shocked. Five years? What happened to Severus, Lily, Lapis, Sirius, and all of my other friends? I wonder if they had forgotten about me? The nurse went and got my doctor after our talk, soon after the doctor was finished with simple tests my mother showed up. "Toria!" she said bringing me into a big hug. She cried happy tears and so did I.

She started to explain that when I fell from the astronomy tower a teacher was able to help put me in a magically induced coma while I healed. I listened carefully, though my mind wandered to my friends. "Mum, what happened to my friends. Did they ever visit?" I ask and she nodded a smile on her face.  "The Potter's and that young Sirius always visit on your birthday and once on breaks. Lily tries to visit often as well. Oh Toria, I thought I lost you!" my mother says holding me close. I hugged my mother back, she told me that she was going to find a magical tutor to homeschool me over the summer so that I could go into my sixth year all caught up. I liked the idea, I also wondered how much everyone had changed.

During the summer as I went through physical therapy and learning all I had missed my mind often went to Severus. I wondered how he felt seeing as his last words to me were not so pleasant. I had held off of sending him a letter, I had written to Lily, James, and Sirius. I wasn't sure of Lapis's address so I decided to surprise her in the upcoming school year. We visited each other, and they all wanted me to tell them who it was, that pushed me off the tower. James and Sirius thought it was Severus. I explained to them that it was Malfoy, and that he was proving himself to the Dark Lord. Whoever that was, gave me a bad feeling. We all were contemplating going to the ministry with this, but I didn't want to. I wanted to put that chapter of my life behind me.

Zena was an adult now, when I saw her for the first time in so long all she did was snuggle with me. After I was caught up I spent the rest of my summer vacation in Botany Bay, Kent. IT was the most relaxing place I had ever been too. My mother rented a house in town but Zena and I mostly relaxed by the beach. Usually on the shore, but often times on the tall cliffs. Botany Bay made me forget about all that I had experienced as of late. I was excited to find out what my sixth year would be like and what all was instored for me.
