Victoria Hufflepuff: Year 1

Surprise Parties

          I was walking along the halls. I was just strolling, my head was starting to hurt from all the reading I was doing. Every book I found would lead me to a dead end. Maybe my brother really wasn't a student, and that all of this was just in my head. "Out and about the castle Hufflepuff?" I turn and come face to face with none other than my Ravenclaw Hero.  Ivan was walking with my other friend that I  had made on my first day of Hogwarts, Yasmin Goldenheart.

"Yes! Er...Do you two now each other?" I ask curiously looking at the two. "Well yes..we met while I was studying by the Lake and Ivan happen to come across me." Yasmin says with a smile, "He helps me with my charms because I 'm bloody awful." Yasmin finishes with a chuckle. Ivan chuckles too, "Well anyways Hufflepuff, Snape wanted us too get you for something. He wouldn't say, but it seemed important." he says looking at me with a slight smile.

I went along with the two. I started to wonder why Severus hadn't come himself, what was so important that he had too have Ivan and Yasmin find me. I shrugged it off and continued to walk, it was starting to get dark outside and Dinner was supposed to be starting soon. We made our way too the seventh floor. "What are we doing on the seventh floor? There is literary nothing up here." I  say looking at the two. I then noticed that we had passed a strange moving tapestry of a wizard seemingly trying to teach trolls to dance, at least three times now. "What are we doing? Were is Severus?" I asks stopping in front of the tapestry.

          In that same moment I turned around, I saw a door manifesting itself. "What in the bloody hell?" I ask moving towards the door. "Ivan? Yasmin? Did you know about this-" I ask turning to where they once were to find that they had already gone and disappeared. "Creepy...I guess I am supposed to go through the door...God I hope this isn't like one of those horror movies...damn my curiosity.." I say opening the door. When I walked in it was dark but I could hear some faint whispering. Shit. I am about to die.

          Suddenly the room became illuminated, it was a mixture of green, sliver, red, and gold decorations. Then out from behind a table James, Sirius, Peter, Remus, Lapis, Lily, and Sev(being dragged up by Lily might I add) jumped up and yelled "SURPRISE!" and "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!". I was shocked but smiled, Sev looked a bit uncomfortable but he still managed too say Happy Birthday. Lily ran up and embraced me in a big hug. "James told  me that you didn't have a birthday party. I know it's a bit late but Happy Birthday." She says breaking the hug and going over too the food table.

          For the rest of the night we ate and just talked about random subjects. For a few hours we were "normal" kids. I forgot about the whole brother ordeal and it seemed for the most part we were all getting along(for the most part). After we ate Sirius spoke up, "We should play one of those muggle games I have heard about! One of their party games! How 'bout the one with the bottle!" He asks sitting next to me. My face flushed red, "no no no not that one." I say and Lily giggles.

          "How about a mix between Truth or Dare and Spin the Bottle?" Lapis asks as we all start to sit in a circle. "W-What are the rules?" I ask my face still a little red. Sev was in front of me and he didn't seem all too enthusiastic about the sound of those games being put into one. "The rules are; 1. The person who spins the bottle asks the Questions and the person who the bottle lands on answers 2. If the person is asked a truth they must answer truthfully or they will have to kiss the spinner of the bottle. 3. If asked Dare you must complete the dare or face the consequences of rule number 2." Lapis says with an innocent smile. "Ohhh I think I am gonna like this game." Sirius says with a wink looking at me. Severus shifted uncomfortably at that.

          My face now had only a subtle blush, "h-how w-will we k-know I-f-f  th-ey a-r-e te-lling t-he tru-th?" Peter says fidgeting his thumbs. "Oh! We you know how a remebral works? Well I have enchanted one to work the same with Truths and lies. If the person is holding it and lie it will turn red, if your telling the truth it will stay the same." Lapis says taking out a rembral. "So who's gonna go first?" She asks.
