Zayn's POV

Today is Friday. Thank god, I really need the weekend. I dragged myself out of bed and stomped to the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth.

I went to my closet and pulled out black skinny jeans, a blue t-shirt and my white converse. Grabbing an apple, I headed out the door.

I can't believe this is my last year at this school. We are all going to graduate in a few months. That's crazy.

"Hey Zayn." I heard someone speak behind me. When I turned around, I saw Jessica standing with a smirk on her face.

"Uh, hi." I muttered and started walking away. I really don't like her, she's so annoying and thinks she can get any guy she wants.

"Don't walk away from me!" She exclaimed running after me in her super high heel shoes.

"What do you want, Jessica?" I said in an annoyed tone. She poked my chest.

"You." She said with a smile on her face.

"Um, no." I spat at her and started walking away again.

"Excuse me?! No one can reject me! I mean look at me." She pointed to herself. She's so full of herself, it makes me wanna puke.

"Well, no means no." I turned on my heels and walked away, faster this time so she wouldn't stop me again. I saw the other lads huddled in a group by the school gym.

"Hey." I greeted them.

"Hey Zayn!" Louis cheerfully said.

A flyer taped on the wall caught my eye. It read, Steveston High Singing Competition. Maybe I'll be able to figure who the mystery girl is, if she goes to this school. Well, it's worth a try. The competition starts on Monday.

"What are you looking at, Zayn?" Liam asked.

"This flyer for a singing competition starting on Monday." I replied.

"Are you planning on finding out who that singing girl is, from this?" Asked Niall, while pointing at the flyer.

"Uh, yea I guess it's worth a try right?" They all nodded their heads in agreement. I knew that they didn't really care about this girl, but I did. The truth is, I like to sing too. I don't think I'm good, I just have an interest in singing. No one knows about it though. That's one reason why I want to find out who she is because in a way, we have something in common even though I don't even know her.

"Zayn." Someone shook my shoulders, breaking me from my thoughts. It was Louis.

"Uh, sorry what?" I didn't know what we were talking about because I had zoned out into my own thoughts.

"The bell rang." He informed me.

"Oh really? Thanks for letting me know, mate." He nodded and walked to his class as I walked to mine.

-----

"Is Jade coming to sit with us again today?" Harry asked.

"Yea, if you guys don't mind. I invited her to sit with us whenever she wanted to." I assured them.

"Of course, she's a really nice girl." Liam said nicely. Everyone else agreed.

"Mind if I sit here today?" I heard a voice behind me. Turning around, I saw Jade with a small smile on her face.

"Of course! You can sit here everyday if you'd like!" I patted the spot next to me, motioning her to sit down.

"Thanks guys, it means a lot. Nobody likes me or talks to me." She said with a sad smile.
