chapter 13

Zayn's POV

Everyone liked the idea of auditioning, except me. I don't think I have the confidence to get on that stage, in front of so many people, and sing.

"What about you Zayn?" Liam asks me, breaking me from my thoughts.

"Uhh I'm sorry, what?" I had completely zoned out and didn't know what we were talking about anymore.

"Do you like the idea of auditioning for the X Factor?" He asks. If he could read my mind, he would know my real answer.

"Oh..um s-sure," I stutter. I don't want to let them down. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad...

I kind of just wanted to go home or go somewhere else to just think about all of this.

"Jade?" I called. She looked up and walked towards me.

"Yea?" She looked a bit worried.

"Do you wanna go somewhere else? I want to just go somewhere with you," I told her.

"Yeah, of course. Where do you want to go?"

"Umm..how about milkshakes? I've heard of a restaurant that apparently has really good milkshakes," I smiled.

"That sounds good! Let's go!" She cheered.

"Where are you guys going?" Niall rose up an eyebrow.

"We're just going to go out for milkshakes," I informed. Niall's eyes lit up. "Alone," I add as Niall pouts.

"Aw don't worry, Niall you can come next time," Jade chuckled. She grabbed her coat and we headed out the door.

We got into the car and buckled ourselves in.

"Can you sing for me now since I already sang for you?" I ask Jade with a smile.

"No," she whined. "Maybe another time."

"Promise?" I really wanted to hear her sing in person.

"Promise," she agreed.

We shortly arrived at the milkshake place.

"I've never been here before," Jade mumbled.

"I haven't either, but I've heard it's good," I smiled as I intertwined our fingers together.

We walked into the restaurant, hand in hand, and it was pretty packed inside.

"Well hello there!" An extremely cheerful waitress approached us.

"Hi, um table for two please," I said nicely.

"Alright! Do you have a reservation?" She asked with the biggest smile on her face. Honestly, she was scaring me a bit.

"No," I replied.

"Okay, well right this way!" She led us to a table.

"Thanks," I smiled.

"I'll be back in a few minutes to take your order! My name is Anna by the way!" She smiled even wider. If that was even possible.

"She's a bit...odd," Jade chuckled as Anna walked away.

"Yea, she's scaring me," I muttered as Jade laughed. I picked up the menu that was sitting on the table. I decided on getting a strawberry banana milkshake.

"What are you going to get?" She asked me while looking at the menu.

"I think I'll get the strawberry banana milkshake," I replied, closing the menu and leaving it on the table.
