Gajeel likes Bixlow. Bixlow likes Freed. Freed likes Laxus. And shockingly Laxus likes Gajeel!
Laxus x Gajeel and other oddball pairings.
Gajeel and Laxus live in the opposite directions so when the rain had stopped they went in separate directions.
"Bye...see you tomorrow," Gajeel shyly said before turning around quickly and speeding off.
"Later!" Laxus yelled out to him, "...so cute."

When Laxus got home he couldn't stop smiling and actually for once in his life, he was looking forward to school the next day. "I should have asked for his number."
Gajeel got those butterflies in his tummy and was feeling all nervous. "I said 'see you tomorrow'...oh my god. Why did I say that?"

The next day, at school Laxus was early, he knew that Gajeel is always early on mornings, so he was sitting on the steps waiting to see him.
He waited until the bell for the first period began. "So he's not coming today." Laxus had turned to walk back inside when he heard foot steps moving quickly behind him. As soon as he'd turned to see who it was, he had a full on collision with untamed long black hair. There is only one person in this school with hair like that.
He had collided with none other than Gajeel Redfox.
"Sorry, I didn't see yo-" he had stopped mid sentence when he realized he crashed into Laxus Dreyar.
When Laxus saw his face he saw the reason why he had come tumbling into him. Gajeel's hair was as messy as ever, actually it was worse than usually.
"What's up with your hair?" Laxus asked trying to stifle a laugh but failing horribly at that.
"I know," he pouted.
"Cute."
"What?" Gajeel asked with an incredulous look.
"You're cute."
"No I'm not!" Gajeel practically shouted.
Laxus took him and ran to the roof top. Class had already started and if they were late that was immediate detention. Gajeel had a confused look on his face. "Why did you take me to the roof?"
"Do you want detention?" was Laxus simple reply.
"Point."
"So why is your hair this messy today?" Laxus asked the question that was on his mind for a while.
"I woke up late this morning and if I took time to comb it I would have been later than this," he told him looking down and slightly blushing. Laxus could not resist the urge to kiss him and had leaned forward to kiss him but Gajeel had pulled back.
"Wow! You can't try to kiss me!" Gajeel exclaimed.
"But we're mates!" Laxus told him.
"Ah...you see I kind of...sought of have a crush on my childhood friend and he doesn't know, and this whole 'mates' thing didn't remove my one-sided feelings for him."
Laxus was angry. An image of the guy Bixlow flashed across his mind and he wanted seriously to punch that guy. Not only did Gajeel just tell him he still has feelings for Bixlow but that also meant that he doesn't have the same feeling for Laxus.
"Well this is a first," was all Laxus said. He didn't want to let out his anger and frustration on Gajeel but he was on the brink of exploding.
"Is this your first time getting rejected?" Gajeel asked. Why did he ask that? The question seemed to throw Laxus off the edge.
"Rejection? Is that what this is?" he seemed to have asked the question to the wind, "you see Gajeel, you don't reject your mate, especially when he's an Alpha!"
There was fear in his eyes. Laxus could sense it but the thought of Gajeel fearing him, enticed him. 'L-Laxus--" Gajeel tried to say but was met with a stinging lightning bolt. "G-gahh!"

There was a maniacal laugh from Laxus, his eyes went white and the power seemed to have taken him over.
"You dare to defy me!" Laxus bellowed. "I'm am your mate, the dominant one. You must submit!"
Gajeel whimpered as he was yet again striked with a lightning bolt.
"Apologize!" Laxus yelled. Gajeel got on his knees, his body aching and bruised, and he bowed his head, "Sorry Laxus..." Tears had formed in his eyes and he was on the verge of bawling out.
"Sorry for what?"
The tears silently rolled down his face and he sniffled. He looked up at Laxus and apologized once more. "I'm sorry for defying you Laxus Dreyar!" At this point the tears were most present. Gajeel was weeping and bawling like a baby.
The image and sound seemed to knock Laxus' senses back in place. As he saw the frail Gajeel on the floor bowing before him he was shocked. He crouched down and held him in his arms.
"I'm sorry," Laxus said, embracing him tighter. "But we can't be friends."
Laxus lifted Gajeel up bridal style and took him to the nurse office. On his way his grandfather, also known as the Master, saw him. He didn't say anything, he just followed his grandson. After Gajeel was in the nurse's care, Master spoke to Laxus.
"I'd like to know the cause of this? What happened that made you go that far?"
Laxus hung his head in disgrace. "It wasn't like that."
"Then what was it like Laxus? You know he's an iron mage and that lightning would gravely affect him, you're basically his nemesis."
The word 'nemesis' made him flinch. That's the last thing he wanted to be. All he wanted was for Gajeel to accept his feelings, plus there's no way for him to back out. A mate can not reject his true mate especially when that mate is an Alpha.
Maybe it was some sort of instinct.
Master was getting impatient. He took Laxus' silence as a form of defiance. "Okay then, don't tell me, but just so you know, even if you are my grandson it doesn't exempt you from detention."
"But gramps--"
Master cut him off. "Today after school, with Gildarts." Laxus let out a deep sigh. "And get to class the bell just rang for second period."
Laxus got his stuff and went to class. Man I hate detention.
