I yawn loudly. The clock read one in the morning. I take long blinks. I glance over at Arianna. She is lent back sleeping. Her hair slightly covered her face but I can still see lips slightly parted. I snap my attention back to the road. Focus Adrian! I feel my phone start to vibrate. I dig in my pocket for it. Pocket knife...gun...gum..wrappers..I think this is a piece of candy. I pull my phone out finally. Brendan. I sigh. You've got to be kidding me! I answer it.
"Sup?" I ask. "Do you know what time it is? Some people are trying to-"
"Dude, I know you were awake." Brendan says.
"What do you want?" I ask.
"You know... Arianna Hanson is missing right?" He asks.
"She is?" I ask my voice shaking.
Crap! You know he is onto you! Why am I even friends with him if he does this?
"Yeah....She did. The other night. You know, the night when Elliot showed up telling us he had a date with her?" He says.
"That's crazy! I wonder where she is. Maybe she ran away to a friend's or something." I give glancing over at her sleeping body.
"Bro, I'm not stupid. I know you have her." He says.
"What makes you think that?" I scoff.
"Dude, seriously? You've been eyeing her for years! Ever sense you and Nick hung out. Obviously you took her. Don't deny it either." He scolds.
"So what if I took her or not? If she is missing she is missing." I say" plus, she is annoying and smart. I wouldn't of lasted this long! You know that!"
"Adrian, bring her home." He says.
"No! She isn't coming back!" I say clenching my teeth.
"You have to! Everyone is looking for her! What has gotten into you?" He cries.
"Nothing. I'm going to keep her. She isn't coming home!" I state.
"Isn't it ironic you took her before her date?" He asks.
"I honestly forgot." I lie.
"Man, just bring her home. If you were jealous or not!" He yells.
"Not a chance bro." I say into the phone, before hanging up.
