What began as an enjoyable night of ball gowns and diadem fittings evolved into a night of suitors and wedding rings. Eventually, Delphine had to camp out in the bathroom to avoid the steady stream of princes and lords attempting to win the hand of the crown princess. Throughout the evening, men stalked her and pounced, but Delphine had 4 heavily armed guards surrounding her at all times, so a plethora of idiots were thrown into a dungeon cell.  When you're the heir to the kingdom, people don't care what you look like or how you act. All they care about is the large amount of gold and power that is going to passed into your hands, and you must protect those factors with your life. "Mother, I hate everyone here. Why are these fools here in the first place? Ugh, there's Prince Charming himself, Gilliam Loren The Third." Delphine grumbled as the most perfect prince in the kingdom approached her and kneeled. Every other maiden in the room swooned. She rolled her eyes as he proclaimed, " Your Majesty, I beg for your hand in marr-"

"NO. I am not interested in spending the rest of my god-forsaken life with you. Get out NOW."

"But your Majesty, I promise you, I am more than eligible to rule alongside you-"

"NONE OF THE MEN IN THIS ROOM ARE MARRYING MY DAUGHTER, IDIOT." Delphine's father boomed. Prince Gilliam stared in shock and made to draw his sword. "Oh, so now you're threatening to murder the king, my father. Smooth." Delphine said as she kicked him in the shin and her personal guards descended upon the prince like wolves. "Well, that seems like a good place to end. ALL OF THE PRINCESS'S SUITORS EXIT THE BUILDING. ALL LADIES MAY STAY AND ENJOY A CAREFREE NIGHT. THANK YOU." Queen Belle spoke through the megaphone. As the dejected men made their way out, the women began to dance more freely and openly. You see, all of the men at the party were slowly becoming less gentleman-like, and the maidens were very modest and guarded because of that. Now that the animals were gone, they could let loose and have fun.

As the early hours of the day creeped up, a steady trickle of people left, and, finally, the ball room was empty.

                                                                 ***************

Delphine woke to find that she has been carried to her room after passing out on the plush couch in the ballroom. "Delphine, dearest, would you like me to turn on the bath? You have a fitting today." Her nurse, Ianthe, asked as she bustled around the room, dusting and wiping every surface. "Sure. Thanks." Delphine murmured as she rolled over in bed. Why does every single morning have to be like this? She wondered. Buying new gowns and shoes, curtsying, denying proposals. Was this all that royalty had to offer? She sighed and got out of bed. What to wear, what to wear. Blue? Nope. Purple. Nope. Yellow. DOUBLE NOPE. Maybe just red. Yeah, sure. Delphine grabbed a figure-clinging scarlet dress with lace sleeves and a mermaid-esque skirt, and pulled it on. Looking pretty, smiling, kissing babies. Sometimes it was just to much.
