"Her heart is going, but we do not know if we can keep her alive" the doctor says gravely. Luke runs his finger nails over the cuts on his arm. I wince immediately at the thought of how much pain he's in. Tears rolling down his cheeks "She has to live! Don't let her die" he cries out. "We're doing the best we can Mr. Hemmings" He says. "Well you better work 110% harder. Because your best isn't going to cut it this girl is special better than the best" Luke says pained. The doctor only gives a slight nod. And walks back. I rub soothing circles on Luke's back, "she'll be alright Luke" I tell him. He turns and hugs me tightly. "If she dies.... I go with her, I'd do anything to be with her. and if that means-" I cut him off. "No! Lucas Robert Hemmings do not think like that. Monique will be fine." I shout at him quietly.
We sit there waiting, every now and then a tear would run down Luke's cheek. He'd wipe it away roughly. The doctor came out "Monique will be fine, and we're hoping for the best for the babies" he says slightly smiling. Luke's eyes lit up. "But she'll have to be in an induced coma for two weeks" he says.
