Loving the Beach

After a few moments of being on the ground Lydia couldn't help but smile at the fall. I helped her up and said "sorry about that I was just coming over to..... Ask you... If you'd like to go for a swim" she nodded and started walking to the water, I followed her. She walked until she was waist deep in the water. Her hair was flowing and the water lightly pushed against her long beautiful legs. I'd take a picture if I could. I walked up behind her and said "You look so at peace with yourself right now". She smiled, without turning to look back at me. "Oh I love the beach. It's the most powerful place on the planet" she responded. I looked up at the water and said "are you sure about that?" Most powerful place on the planet? Come on. She pulled me beside her and had me look up. Lydia stood there with me. By my side. Her hand on my arm. "You see it" she said, "this place is where people come to swim, to fish, to surf, to have parties. This is where land and sea come together as one. This is where destruction and tragedy can happen, like tsunamis, hurricanes, tropical storms.... Beached whales. It's also where the most beautiful things happen. Like the perfect sunset, dolphins leaping. And even the most romantic things, having a walk on the shore hand in hand, preposing to a soulmate, or making love on the sand. Don't you see now stiles?" I was blown away. I never knew Lydia to be so passionate about anything, except maybe clothes. What she said really made me think, and it just made me want her more. But before I could even answer her question jump up and yelled "the waves are coming in!!" She fell into the waves as the came in. The moment she had created was over. I laughed and joined her, she didn't object. I played in the water with her for what felt like an hour but it was really about three minutes. We stopped when Allison called us back up saying "hey! We're gonna play truth or dare!"
