-Kallilope's POV-
After we had eaten our waffles and I had met Clary's step-mom (who is really sweet, in comparison to that of Cinderella). We decided to go for a drive.
"I still can't believe they would do that to you." She said after we had gotten into her car.
"It's not that uncommon when you're openly gay in towns like this, to be completely honest." I told her.
"You know, maybe that's what I need to do."
"What? You mean like girls?"
"Yeah, I bet girls would treat me a lot better than most of the guys I date."
"I know I would"
I thought I said this under my breathe.
"What?" Clary exclaimed.
"What?" I replied.
"Do you have a crush on me?"
"Pfft. Me? You? No thanks you aren't my type."
"Oh that's a shame. If I liked girls you'd be my first choice." She flirted.
She flirted.
Clary flirted with me.
Clary.
Flirted.
With.
Me.
I cAnT fUnCtIoN.
-Clary's POV-
Ugh why did I say that?
Why do I let my mouth run?
Like Clary you don't even know this girl! For all you know she'll tell everyone!
Aaron's going to use everything he can against you when he finds out about what happened with Alex.
I heard my phone ring, and, of course, it was Aaron.
"Hey this is Clary. "
"What the hell happened this morning?!" He barked.
"Nothing happened. I woke up and Alex was there trying to suck up, and I'm not going to keep taking all his bull"
I was testing his temper his temper that was tiny, along with other things of his.
"I don't care Clary. You are going to go back and apologize and take him back!" He said in his "I'm the boss" voice.
"Alright. okay. But this is the last time." I said.
I hung up.
I was a mess and totally oblivious of the fact that she was still in the car. I grabbed my make up remover and took off the makeup that was covering my bruises. I hate makeup, and I forgot why I was keeping my bruises covered.
"Oh my God! Clary what happened to you?"
That's when I remembered Kalliope was still in the car.
"Alex?"
I nodded.
Then she looked at my me and cradled my chin in her hands. She did this differently than he did. This wasn't forced. This was gentle. This was calming and beautiful and natural and comfortable. I didn't understand what I was feeling.
And then she started crying.
"No. No. Don't cry." I pleaded.
"I would never hurt you like this, Clary. No one ever should."
And before I could stop myself my lips were pressed against hers and I was holding her, and she was holding me and we were crying together and it was like entangled with all the feelings, she knew me.
And she really, truly understood.
