Chapter 21

One Week Later

Harry is walking into the lobby of the doctor's office he shares with Robin, rolling the sleeves down on his shirt, when he sees his wife and mom walk in the front door, he's just about to say something when he hears Robin behind him.
"Well, this is a nice surprise. What are you doing here?" Robin asks.

"I called Billie to see how she's feeling and asked her to lunch, when she told me she is meeting Harry I thought we could join them." Anne smiles, kissing her husband's cheek.

Robin wraps his arms around Anne and kisses her back. "Sounds fine with me."

It took everything Harry had in him not to show his true feelings, this whole week working side by side with this man has been exhausting.

"Harry, you don't mind us butting in on your alone time with Bill, do you?" Anne asks.

"Of course not, mom." Harry says. "We love having you around." He says as he walks to his wife, when he reaches her side he places his hands on her belly. "How's my babies?" He asks, kissing her.

"Both very hungry." Billie laughs as she kisses him back, letting him escort her to his car. They've been driving it because it's easier for her to get in and out of it than her truck.

"We'll meet you at The Hangout." Harry tells Robin.

"I'm sorry." Billie says as soon as Harry starts the engine. "I couldn't think of a polite way of telling Momma Anne no to lunch."

Harry picks Billie's hand up and kisses it. "It's fine, this way I can keep an eye on them, make sure she's safe."

"I hope Louis gets the DNA results soon. You need the rest." Billie says, as Harry parks the car.

"I'm used to little sleep, and think of this as practice for when Jr. is born." Harry chuckles as he helps Billie out of the car.

"Hey Josey." Billie says as she walks behind the counter to get hers and Harry's drinks. "Tell Brian we want our usual, I'm not sure what Anne and Robin wants." She says as she hands Harry his drink, then sits down. Just as she's about to take her first sip Louis walks in with a couple of his deputies.

"Afternoon, have you guys ordered yet?" Louis asks.

"We have." Harry says. "Mom and dad haven't made up their minds yet." Harry could tell by the look on Louis' face he's about to do something he doesn't want to. Harry stands up, pulling Billie with him, making sure she's safe.

Louis nods as he puts his hand on Robin's shoulder. "Well, I hate to say this, but Robin, looks like you won't be eating here." Louis says with difficulty. "Sir, you're under arrest for the murder of Lexi Campbell and a list of other women in multiple cities." Louis says as he slips the cuffs on his best friend's step-dad.

Anne's mouth drops open. "Lou? What the hell? Why are you doing this, you've known Robin for years. You know he didn't do this." She says as her eyes fill with tears.

Harry jumps to his mom's side. "Mom, stop. He did do this." Harry says, getting Anne to look at him. "Mom, look at me, I'm your son, I'd never lie to you. The DNA was a match, Lexi was pregnant with Robin's baby, he killed her. We have the proof." Harry says as the tears fall from his eyes.

Anne turns and looks at her husband of ten years, as soon as their eyes meet it's almost you could almost see the evil suddenly coming out of Robin. He throws his head back and laughs. "You were so gullible, the perfect little alibi all these years." Robin laughs. "Hell, no one would dare think the amazing Anne Styles would have anything to do with anyone less than perfect, if Lexi hadn't gotten pregnant, and they hadn't had Harry do the fucking autopsy instead of me I'd have never been caught."

"Oh God. You killed Rachael? And Heather?" Anne whispers. "How could you? They had families, small children to care for, what right did you have to take them away from their kids?" Anne screams.

"I had every right." Robin snaps. "Every woman I killed I also fucked. They were nothing but lying, no good, cheaters."

Anne brings her hand up and slaps Robin as hard as she can. "Then I hope you get the death penalty, you're no better than they were." She spits out. "No your worse, you're a murderer and this world would be better off without you in it. Louis get that bastard out of my site." Anne says as she turns and buries her face in Harry's chest.

"Mom I'm so sorry." Harry whispers as he hugs her.

"Oh.oh,oh,oh, fuck, this hurts." Billie suddenly snaps out, her hand on her belly. "Shit, why the fuck didn't someone tell me how bad this hurt." She screams as he water breaks.

Harry runs to Billie's side, almost slipping and falling when he hit the puddle of amniotic fluid on the floor. "Okay babe, breath." Harry says. "Dont forget what we've practiced." He says as he helps her toward the door his mom is holding open. Handing her the keys to car he asks. "Will you drive please?"

"Of course." Anne says as she takes the keys out of her son's hand.

"I'll call the fam." Brian calls out.

Harry waves his hand letting his brother-in-law know he heard him as he helps Billie into the back seat of his car then crawls in beside her.
"I love you so much." He whispers.

"I love you too." Billie gasps out as the next contraction hits.
