Meghan woke up before Joey did. She checked her phone to see how much time she had before Kalel picked her up. It was almost 10 o' clock so she figured she should head home and get ready. She scampered down the stairs and rounded the corner to see if Sawyer was awake. He was in the living room, hovering over his camera on its tripod.
"Stupid thing!" he was saying before noticing Meghan. "Oh, hi."
"What's wrong with it?" she asked.
"It won't record anything," he answered with a confused look on his face.
"Let me take a look at it," she insisted. Sawyer moved aside to let Meghan take his place above the camera.
"I'm sorry about Jimmy," Sawyer blurted out.
Meghan was surprised at his outburst.
Four, she counted the apologies she had gotten in her head.
"It's okay. He wasn't anything special," she lied.
Sawyer smirked at her comment. He knew that she found it hard to let Jimmy go, but he didn't say anything.
"The SD card isn't in it," Meghan said, finding the source of his problem.
"Oh, wow," Sawyer mumbled, ashamed at how stupid he was.
"I thought you were more skilled with things like this," she said, standing up right and grinning.
"It's only because I just woke up," he stated with a full smile now on his face.
"I should probably go, Kalel and I are going to the mall."
"Okay, see you later." Meghan made her way to the front door. "Thanks for fixing my camera!" he called after her, just before he heard the door slam. A few seconds later Meghan was back.
"Something wrong?" Sawyer asked.
"Joey drove me here. I don't have a ride," she answered.
"I'll drive you."
"Would you mind?" she felt guilty now, making him drive her home.
"No, I had to go out anyway," he lied.
"Okay," she said, going back outside to wait by Sawyer's car.
Sawyer fed Hitch and filled his water bowl. He left a note for Joey saying he took Meghan home in case Joey woke up while he wasn't there. He met Meghan by his car a minute later.
"About time," she said with a small smile. She climbed into the passenger seat.
She seemed too be in a good mood, which surprised Sawyer since she and Jimmy broke up only a little over a week ago.
They didn't talk on the way to her house. They listened to the radio. Meghan thought about Joey. He was a good friend wanting to be there for her and comfort her. She couldn't wait to see him again though she was also excited to see Kalel. But Kalel doesn't know about the break up. Another explanation to give. Another apology to receive.
