Kalel picked her up at 1 o' clock on the dot just like she said she would. Meghan didn't want to tell her about the break up just yet in case she would treat her differently at the mall. She wanted everything to feel normal like it would have a month before.
"Hey!" Kalel screamed out the car window and honked the horn. Meghan came outside a minute later. "I haven't seen you in a while," she said, leaning over the passenger seat to hug Meghan.
"I know! I really missed you," Meghan replied as they let go and buckled herself in. "Are you going to try and find me some stuff or are you going to let me shop on my own?" Kalel quite enjoyed putting her in different styles of clothes. Meghan, on the other hand, was not fond of the idea of changing into ten different outfits only to find that a) she didn't like any of them or b) she had no idea where she could wear them. Kalel was into the whole frilly skirts and tights sort of fashion when Meghan was perfectly comfortable in her oversized sweatshirts and beanies. However, today she was dressed in leggings and a nice cardigan, not because she wanted to but because David took her comfiest sweatshirts to Modesto with him.
"We'll just have to wait and see," Kalel said with a big smile on her face. Meghan suspected that Kalel did have something in mind after all and she knew that she would have to go along with it. "So how's David and Jimmy? I haven't seen them either."
"Oh, uh, he's good. They're both good." Meghan replied, trying to hide her hurt.
"Good," Kalel said slowly, glancing over at her. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm just tired," she said, fake yawning. Tears slowly began to blur her vision. Kalel noticed.
"Meghan?" she asked, stopping at a red light. The tears began to roll down her cheeks and she couldn't keep it in one more second. She covered her face with her hands and quietly began to sob. Kalel knew exactly why she was crying. "Meghan. It's okay. I'm so sorry." she said, leaning over to hug her again.Five.
The light turned green and the van behind them honked at them. Kalel let go of Meghan and stuck her head out the window. "Bitch, I'll move when I want to move!"
The man driving the van flipped her off and Kalel was satisfied with that. Meghan stopped crying and gave her a hoarse laugh. Kalel smiled, happy to see Meghan laughing. So much for a normal day.
