Chapter Two:Fake Relationship

The school bell rings and all of high school gets out of class and on to lunch. That includes me, I am in 10th grade and so is Joe. I don't eat school lunch, so I would walk to subway across the stree with Lea, she's my best friend, but I haven't see her all day and she didn't show in class today so I go ask her boytoy Tanner who was having a conversation with Joe by his locker

"Hey, Tanner have you seen Lea today?", I said as I glance at Joe a few times too many.

"Oh, she's a no show today, I went by her house earlier today and found out that she got sick because of the gas station sushi she bought yesterday." he said walking away and ending the short conversation, leaving my and Joe alone in the hall way.

As soon as Tanner was out of sight Joe took no time to take my hand and run to privacy, only to be stopped by Juliana Joe's cheerleader girlfriend. He needed a cover and so did I. As soon as we saw her we immediately stopped holding hands.

"Baby", she says in a whiny voice "I've been looking for you every where", she says as she walks up to him and kisses him but he doesn't kiss back. My stomach did a backflip at the sight.

" What are you doing with her?" she ask then goes into a full on lecture on how he shouldn't hang out with people outside their clique and what not. We then have to make up this bull story on how I wasn't running fast enough to be early to the next class since lunch was almost over.

"Well I think you can walk the rest of the way", she says snatching Joe up and walking away. Joe turns his head and gives me the 'I'm sorry, please forgive me' look. Leaving me in the hall way all alone.
