Oh boy do I have a lot to say about music. First let me tell you about music. Music, up until the 21st century, have been used for religious, ceremonial, and cultural reasons. Now all you hear is songs about "bad bitches" and money... What are these mainstream artists teaching our generation? There was music protesting the Vietnam war, there was music for good vibes and happiness, hell there was even a time where anti communist music was a thing... But sadly now all we get is an underweight white girl singing about "California girls" or an over weight black dude singing about how he "put Molly all in her champagne and she ain't even know it" music is supposed to be for making people happy, or for addressing a situation. It shouldn't be provoking hate or the discrimination of women.
I get that not 100% of new music is like this but it's a fact that music today is no where near what it used to be or what it should be. What happened to the Beatles or Janis Joplins kind of music where "you know you got it child if it makes you feel good". I also want to state that screamo is literally the worst thing to ever exist... Well maybe not the worst... But when I heard my first screamo song I couldn't help but feel embarrassed that I'm growing up in a time where something like that is considered an art! Good new music is few and far between, I believe that we all can agree on that. Looking throughout my room I see a giant "don't tread on me" flag, ( I am a very patriotic guy) a jimi Hendrix poster, a nirvana poster, a Janis Joplin poster, and a Woodstock poster along with posters saying "God bless the U.S. And legalize it stickers ... If you were to look in a modern teenagers room you would see minecraft, call of duty, and a picture of a half naked girl.
