Part 17: The Diner

"Julian also told me Hope was going to betray me," she said into the camera "when she tried to I killed her. I killed someone I thought was a friend. Her reasoning was to prolonge her death by killing me. It probably wouldn't have been for long anyway. I'm almost at the diner, I have no idea what's to come. I'll keep the camera on in due time."

Lilith kept walking, looking down to see her footsteps. When she looked up Jorge was standing there waiting about 10 feet in front of her.

He smirked "Hello," he was an infector with a bullet hole in his head.

She smiled "Hello Jorge."

"The diner is about a block away. Shall we walk there?"

"Of course."

They were walking side by side as Jorge continued to speak "This thing called life. It's a tricky thing, we live until we die."

"I know this by now. What's death like?"

"It's peaceful," he smiled "I saw my brother again."

"That must have been nice."

"Thank you by the way."

"For?"

"Supporting me, helping me and killing me."

"No problem dude."

"It's only a matter of time before you join us."

"I honestly can't wait."

"Well at first it's painful, but it's gotten over quickly," he said "Aye we're here."

Jorge turned into the diner which had open windows all along the outside, entering the door followed by Lilith he sat down at the closest booth to the door facing away from it "Sit," he said pointing to the seat across from him. The diner was vacant, nothing but the chairs and bar which stretched across the place.

She sat down "What are we doing here?"

"Close your eyes," she closed them "Now open."

When she opened them sitting next to Jorge was Zargo with the same outfit and bullet wounds, right next to her was Julian. Behind Jorge was John who had a bunch of bullet holes across his face. Sitting on the bar stools was BB, with a burned exit bullet hole wound through the cheek, Tiffany with bullet holes across the chest, Dylan with a stab wound in the ear, Nadia singed with grenade shrapnel and bullet hole in the side of the head, Alissa standing next to Zargo with multiple stab wounds on the torso, David with a slit throat, Sabrina that had a bite mark on the neck with a bullet hole in the head, Chris with a bullet hole through the head, Elizabeth with a missing arm and leg with multiple bite marks scattered all over her body, Hugs which looked hunched over and Lang with a half ripped open neck. No blood in sight.

Lilith was speechless when Zargo spoke "Here we are all of us you had the strongest connection with,  the ones you loved the most."

She placed her head on the table and began to weep "It's okay sweetheart," Julain told her.

"Why..." Lilith said in tears lifting her head up.

"Because we have always been here," Zargo said "like I said before."

"We brought you here to see how much we really loved you...we died for you," Julian said.

"Then what?"

"You will see soon, for now we must thank you. For going on regardless of deaths, regardless of what got in your way," Zargo said "It's was your duty and you fulfilled it."

"When I die will I see you all like how you died?"

"No," Jorge said "You will see us as if we were still alive. That's why I said it was great."

"Lang and Hugs...how did you two die?"

Lang spoke up "After watching your logs Hugs wanted to jump from the roof, I convinced him to come down but before I could help him down an infector helped us down to our deaths."

"Oh..."

"Don't blame yourself," Hugs asked "It was all me."

"So what now?"

"You have been strong," Zargo said "You have survived the impossible, being the one on top every time."

"And a lot of death on the way."

"Only proving your strength," Julian pointed out.

"Let me ask you one thing."

"What?"

"Are you ready to die?"

Lilith simply nodded then said "Yes..."

Zargo then asked "How much do you love us?"

"I would die for you all."

"Then its time. All you have to do is walk out of this diner, then your fate is met."

She smirked "It's about fucking time."

At the same time all of them said "I love you Lily."

"I love you all too...so much."

Zargo said "Then go prove it. Prove that love will always prevail and it will never die."

Lilith closed her eyes to take a deep breath and when she opened her eyes everyone was gone.

"I'm ready to die...for them."
