Jace was walking in the school corridor towards the administration’s office.

She was nervous.

Yesterday, Jesse had made her fruit salad for dinner. It was good – sweet, with a tinge of sour from the mayonnaise. During dinner Jesse had told her that she could finally break the diet the next day, which meant today. Jace was happy, of course, it meant that she could eat all the meat in the world now! But Jesse told her that Dr Manette advised a balanced diet.

A balanced diet?

What the hell does a balanced diet mean?

Anyway, it was a bit awkward at dinner because of the scene in bed… Jesse had almost landed a kiss on her again.

That was until her stomach decided, “IT’S MY TURN TO INTERRUPT!!”

Damn stomach…. (=.=)

It would have been their third kiss if her stomach hadn’t decided to ring the bell.

While having so many scenes in her head, she didn’t lose sight of what she was supposed to do. According to her homeroom teacher, it was extremely vital as it concerned her studies. The minute her homeroom teacher entered, Jace was called up front. She was told to visit the administration’s office immediately.

And now here she was. In front of the administration’s office.

With her heart pumping with fear and anxiety.

What do they want with me?

She landed a soft knock on the hard old wooden door before she turned the doorknob and made her way in. It has been always in her “Guideline to Life” that knocking was a form of courtesy. She’d even knock on the bathroom door before she entered, just in case some unlucky person behind the door forgot to lock it. The woman behind the desk was almost ancient. Imagine a wicked witch, thin, fragile, wrinkly. Just get rid of the wicked part, because the face of the woman was a kind one. She was smiling at Jace when she entered and gestured her to sit in the very uncomfortable wooden chair before her.

Jace gets a little paranoid when she sees the same thing over and over again. Like in the plane, everything she saw was brown. And now, in the office, practically everything was wooden. Jace could swear that even the woman’s glasses were wooden-rimmed! Even her name plate was wooden, with her name [Madam Pristine] carved into it. Her desk was undoubtedly wooden, along with her chair and pen holder and paper weight and almost everything else.
