As soon as I awoke, my muscles were sore. The little bit of comfort I had did little for me during my sleep. It could have only been early in the morning, a little bit of light was visible in the sky through the cracks of the ceiling. I heard birds chirping and rats scatter around on the ground. I pushed myself up and grabbed the old bag full of the little useful items in the warehouse. I cranked open the massive door. I was greeted by the very early sunrise. I shut the door behind me and looked around. Up until this point I hadn't thought about what I would do. Would it be better to go explore, or go back the way I came from the explosion, from last night? I didn't want to return there. But, on the contrary, I had a lot of curiosity building up. And I might find some clues back there.

Last nights heavy footsteps had left faint tracks on the soft ground. There was a lot of mud and damp grass. Making it easier to follow the tracks. Trekking through the woods was a lot harder. The ground being harder. The pine needles disguising footprints and the forest dense and similar. You would think you had been going in circles, you haven't, but it all looked the same. I wondered how I made it through here last night.

After about 2 hours of trekking through the forest, I could see a clearing through the trees. I could catch glimpses of darkened grass, a stormy sky and plains. Sometime ago when I was about halfway through the forest, the flecks of sunlight slipping through the trees leaves had faded. There was no rain but I heard the rolling sounds of thunder. I could now see the massive storm in front of me.

I reached the edge of the forest and came to a stop on the edge of a hill. I hadn't realised from the forest, that the plains I saw, were far away in the distance. In a very small crater like valley, stood the reminents of last night. The waste from the explosion was visible with debris still floating around. The fire had dimmed down, with small flames slipping about the ash and debris.

I slowly walked down the hill. Almost slipping a few times as there was only loose dirt for my feet to grasp on the ground. As I got closer I could make out objects and debris. The red liquid was still in pools around the area. It seems anything that came into contact with the liquid was quickly destroyed. An end of a plank of wood had fallen into one of the many pools. I pulled out it out from the other end. The end that was soaked was black, putrid and stunk. It had black mist protruding from it. I could tell this liquid was bad, so I decided to stay clear from it.

I floated around the area for a good 3 hours. It was large in comparison to what I had thought. Checking everything, clues, anything to give me information to where I had came from. My memory was still fuzzy with only a few blurred images could come to my head. I walked over to an empty fuel can and sat down. I needed to think. I grabbed a can of beans out of my bag. I needed to eat as well. I was starving. I popped the can and tipped my head back. I took in three mouthfuls of beans before I stopped and sealed the can again. I needed to save my food for later.

I found nothing. I kicked my feet into the ground. I decided to keep moving anyway. I dragged my feet along the ground as I walked. I was hopeless and depressed at the amount of evidence I found. Nothing. Too lost in thought caused me to trip over and small piece of debris. My body lurching forward and my face flying into a pool of the red liquid.
