A silver-and-white tabby she-cat with dark blue eyes walked a path. She had been walking the same path for a few moons now. It lead into a clearing that was filled with cats.

"You took your time, Ivypaw. Even though you managed to get ThunderClan to fight ShadowClan, that does not mean that you get special treatment," a dark tabby tom with ice blue eyes said.

"Sorry, Hawkfrost," Ivypaw replied. "I'll get right to practice."

"Well, get started," Hawkfrost said, taking his place in front of her.

Ivypaw crouched into a fighting stance, flattening her ears, and then leapt at him. At first, she bowled him over, but it wasn't long before the much larger cat overtook her.

"Better," he said, letting her up. "But you can do better. Now, go back to your Clan. We'll see you tonight."

Shaking the dust from her pelt, Ivypaw nodded and laid down to sleep so that she could reenter the world of the living. She woke just as the sun was breaking over the stone wall of the ThunderClan camp.

"Ivypaw, battle training," her mentor, Cinderheart, called from outside the apprentice's den.

"Okay," she replied, feeling bleary from training all night. "Who's coming?"

"Dovepaw and Berrynose," her mentor replied.

Yawning, Ivypaw pushed herself to her paws and headed out to train with the living. The four cats went to the training area, where they began to practice. Berrynose showed them how to move like a snake, so that prey would smell for snake and not cat.

"Dovepaw, you go first," Berrynose said after he'd finished demonstrating the technique.

His apprentice crouched low, and perfectly executed the move, finishing off with a pounce that would've trapped any prey in her paws.

"Perfect!" Berrynose said proudly. "Ivypaw, now its your turn."

But before Ivypaw could do it, Dovepaw sat up straight and blinked at Berrynose. "Why don't I go off with hunting with Ivypaw, and we'll put it into practice?" she meowed. "It's going to be such a short day," she added with a glance up at the sky. It was plain to see; the sun was going to go down before long. "Your demonstration was so good that I'm sure Ivypaw will be able to manage this move."

Berrynose puffed out his chest, pride swelling inside. "Sounds fair."

Cinderheart wasn't so sure. "Are you sure you've got this?" she asked.

"Absolutely," Dovepaw promised. "If Ivypaw doesn't get it, we'll come back and find you."

"Ivypaw?" Cinderheart asked, looking for confirmation from the other apprentice.

      Ivypaw nodded. "I've got it."

As the siblings began to run off into the trees, Cinderheart called out, "Stay away from the Shadowclan border!" The two apprentices flicked their tails to confirm they had heard.

Dovepaw and Ivypaw ran through the woods and past ThunderClan's camp without slowing down.

"I thought we were hunting," she mewed. But Dovepaw ignored her and kept going, her sister following hit on her heels. They came up to the WindClan border and finally began to slow down.
