So today was Friday. Friday's are always pretty cool. About 10 minutes before the bell rings I ask to go to the bathroom. Instead of using the bathroom, I walk out of school unnoticed.
I walk outside and it feels wonderful. I've always loved 60 degree weather. The clouds looked like woven cloth in the sky. The birds chirping and the street musician made the setting. I walk home after school every day. I normally stop by the comic book shop.
I walk down the sidewalk and see "Legends Comics and Gaming". I walk into the shop and gaze around. I've been looking for this game I played at Michael's house for the past couple of days. I take a right and head straight down to the games section.
There it is. "Super Smash Bros Melee". I rush over to it and look for the price. This game costs $75.00. It must be rare. I check my wallet and see I have $100.35. I grab the game and take a left towards the controllers. I see a black GameCube controller. The price tag is $9.99. I grab that too.
I rush over toward the counter and put everything on the counter. The cashier said, "Your total is $94.89". I hand him everything in my wallet. "Your change is $5.46. Have a nice day" I try to say thank you but I say "Yee". My face turns red and I run out. I quickly pace home.
I open the door and go straight to my room. I dig out our old GameCube, put in the game, and the controller. The introduction plays. I see a trophy of Mario and it transform in to a high resolution version. I skip the intro due to excitement. I go to select my fighter and see I have to unlock more characters. I quickly go to the Melee subreddit to search for answers. "Clear classic mode with no continues, beat 100 Man Melee with Fox..." The grind to unlock everything starts now.
