Chapter 6

Its been two weeks. Today I'm being released from the hospital.

I walk outside hospital doors feeling above the world.

I looked at the sky. Then, back down at my daughter. Damn. Why it had to be so difficult?

Jay pulls up in front of me in his all black, four door Camaro.

He gets out and comes over to open my door first. Then, he grabbed Ona & straps her in.

Once we were in the car. I was in my thoughts.

How was I going to tell Yu I just had his child. His, maybe, first.

Would he even believe me?

I don't know. Could I even be around him?

After thirty minutes we pulled up to a house. It was unfamiliar to me. I looked across the street & see a bando.

"Where are we?" I ask.

He giggles. This don't look familiar to you? The neighborhood? None of that?" He asks. "That's your old house, girl. And this one.." he points to the newer looking house. "is our new one."

My jaw drops. I almost cry.

"Go on in. I got Ona." he says.

I do as told. I open the door. The house is fully furnished. Its beautiful.

Brick inside & out. Stainless steel kitchen. A fireplace in the family room. A gorgeous 92" flat screen hanging from the wall.

Woah. He did good.

He walked in behind me. "You like?"

"Like?.." I say. "LOVE!!"

"Great! I'm going to put Ona in her room, and then we shall talk.. Ok?" he walks away.

Talk? About?

He came back out to the living room.

I was sitting down in a chair in the corner.

I felt kind of uneasy about what there was to talk about.

He started talking.

"So.. How you feeling babe?" he asks me.

"Kind of confused.. Why don't you get to the point of this conversation and stop beating around the bush?" I answer. Slightly annoyed.

"Who's her farther?" he says. His words kind of hurt, because I knew who he was. He was the man that hurt me. He was the man that I loved. "We have to know, Lacey."

"I don't know." I answer kind of upset about lying. But, it was for good reason.

"Are you sure, Lace?" he asks.

I just get up and leave. I go into a room that's yellow. It was Ona's room.

It was beautiful. Like a baby heaven.

I sit in a white rocking chair looking at Ona.

"Yu has to know." I say to her.

The next day, I awaken. It was 8:45. Jay's gone to work. This is the perfect time to call Yu.

I hope he's awake.

I go to his contact & call.

"Whatsup' " he answers.

"Yu.. Its me.. Lacey." I say like my dreams are shattered.

"Oh, hey baby girl.. Listen.. I'm sorry &-" I cut him off.

"I just had your baby."

"What?" he says to me in almost disbelief.

"I just had your baby. You will take care of it. Her names Ona and.." he cuts me off this time.

"Can I come see you?" he asks.
