7) intimidates any girl you bring home to the point where they won't come back unless she's not there
Sasha:
It was an extremely rainy day and classes were ended early due to a severe flash flood warning. I walked home to Maya and I's apartment, sheltered beneath the safety of my umbrella. A girl from my history class had asked to come over later for help on our latest essay since she claimed to be a terrible writer. I was nervous for how Maya would react but I invited her over anyways. Her name was Sasha.
At home, Maya was sitting at the breakfast bar with her sketchbook open in front of her and her cheeks smeared with charcoal and oil pastel. Something told me that she had skipped class but was completing her assignment anyway.
"Hey, Maya!" I called our, tossing my keys on the counter. They hit against the fruit bowl, causing the clang of metal on metal to ring throughout the kitchen.
"Hey, Josh." She sighed without even glancing over at me.
Something seemed off about her today. She was probably just in one of her moods and I decided to let it go for the moment. Maybe she would perk up a bit later.
"Listen, this girl Sasha needs help with her history essay so she's gonna come over later, okay?"
"Guess I don't have much of a say so sure... Why not?" She laughed and tucked a curly strand of hair behind her ear, smudging even more charcoal across her cheek, "Can you get me my acrylic paints off my desk please?"
I wandered down the hall and found a small plastic tub filled with tubes of different sizes and different colors. I also grabbed the mason jar of paint brushes that I figured she would need as well.
"Completing all your assignments for class?" I slid into the stool next to her as I set the jar down on the counter.
"Nope. Just doing it for fun. I've had a few ideas stuck in my head for awhile and needed to get them out." She pulled a loose piece of textured paper out of the back of her sketchbook and began to trace out a rose in pencil.
I sat in awe as she blended different colors together and created a gorgeous and life-like painting of her favorite flower. The silence was peaceful. There was only the soothing sound of rain drumming on the window pane filling the stillness of our apartment.
Just then, the sound of the doorbell cut through the silence. As I got up to answer the door, I noticed Maya was wearing a super short pair of paint splattered jean shorts and one of my old t-shirts. When she stood to rinse off one of her paint brushes, it looked as if she wasn't wearing pants at all.
"Hurry up and answer the door, Josh." Maya called over her shoulder, "Don't want to leave Sasha waiting..." I couldn't see her face since her back was turned to me, but I knew there was a smirk plastered on her face.
I let Sasha in, whose blonde hair was soaked from the constant downpour. She dropped her composition notebook and purse on the couch and slid real close to me. She talked to me about her ideas for the assignment for a little while before we actually got to work.
Just as Sasha opened her notebook and readied her pen, Maya strolled into the living room area.
"I'm leaving that painting on the counter. Don't touch it, okay?" She instructed with one hand placed impatiently on her hip.
Sasha's mouth dropped open at the sight of Maya. Her curly blonde hair was pulled into a messy bun on top of her head and it had a few paintbrushes stuck through it. Her blue eyes were piercing and her freckled cheeks were still smudged with charcoal and oil pastel. The backs of her tiny hands were flecked with different colors of paint and the tips of her fingers on her dominant hand were black with charcoal. My old t-shirt hid the fact that she was wearing pants. She wrinkled her nose and smirked at me before trailing down the hallway.
"Maybe I can come back another time when your girlfriend isn't here." Sasha said awkwardly. She had already gathered her things and was out the front door before I could protest.
There was one reason why Sasha had left so suddenly: Maya.
A/N: hey guys! Sorry it took me so long to update. Life has finally calmed itself down for me and I'm so happy that I can get back into writing. As of right now, I don't have an evened out writing schedule quite yet so for the time being, updates are basically going to come at random. I will try to keep you posted as to when I am planning on producing them. But here's the first of many chapters to come hopefully. Thanks for sticking with me through my period of hibernation lol.
