Oikawa POV:

It was May 20th. My second year anniversary of becoming an exorcist was today. I couldn't honestly believe it since it felt like only a few months ago I was playing volleyball with my friends. But putting that aside, it is a quite interesting story to how I got here.

It all started with an outbreak. Demons suddenly started to appear in dark alleyways and forests. Most reports of them were considered fiction due to the fact there was no evidence that they actually existed. This was all the way back when I just started college. At that time I didn't have any life goals except for to prove that aliens are real, so I decided I would study hard and become a astronaut.

My career path changed after the Demons began to go into more populated places such as malls and schools. The Demons would take the appearance of a normal human so no one questioned them. It only took them a few months to create their own identity and manage their way into our society. They originally just attacked in less known areas since they could kidnap humans easier that way and examine their behaviors. However there was one odd thing, some Demons that we were able to take down showed signs of being here for longer than just the few months. Some Demons lived here for years previous to that.

The actual way Demons got here is even more confusing than that. They supposedly got here from breaking a gate that separates the underworld from the world we know. However that is all I know, and I'm an excorsist. The rest of the information is classified and only two in the whole human world know the whole truth. That is the head of the excorsict branch, that is more commonly known as Demons Slayers, and his assistant.

However, I'm getting off topic. After the major outbreaks of Demon killings and attacks began our government know they had to act and fast. So they made a test. It was a physical and mental test that only took one day. Anyone over the age of sixteen was able to participate. I decided that I would participate since I was getting tired of the college life and I decided I would be much more useful if I became and exorcist.

I arrived to the place where the test was at early. One hundred people at a time were taken into a room to take the test. I was number ninety-nine so I was one of the first to take the test. The room we were invited was large. It had black and white checkered floors and white walls. The lights were the kind that you would usually see in hospitals. I was surprised when I saw Iwazumi there to take the test as well. He was number forty-four. Iwa-chan had been my friend since the days were I was still very young, however we had not talked in quite some time. I wanted to say hi at the time, however I couldn't since right at that moment a man with a microphone started to speak. He essentially just thanked us for coming and that the test would begin with our fighting skills. We were given a plastic sword and told to get the the person next to us, who would be own partner, to a point were they would be dead if this was a real sword fight.

I was quite taken aback due to the fact that I had never sword fight previous to this. However, I decided to not let that discourage me. I knew it in an odd sense that it was my destiny to become an exorsist and fight against Demons. I had to give it my all.

The person next me was a guy named Kaneki Ken. He had black hair and grey eyes and was pretty skinny with about zero muscle mass. That is when it suddenly occurred to me that I had an advantage due to the fact that I was pretty strong and worked out regularly.

Two ladies came through a black door. The were both holding two plastic bags with swords in them. They began to walk around a pass the swords around. Once they finally got to me I was happy to know that the swords weren't too hard to hold. I firmly put my two hands on the black handle of the sword. The man who spoke earlier began again. "Make sure you do not seriously hurt your partner otherwise you will automatically be disqualified. If you want to quit already leave through the door with the exit sign. Okay now that that is covered I would like to begin the countdown. Get in your positions because we will be beginning in ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, and one. Begin!"

I faced Kaneki Ken straight into the eyes and began to charge foward. He put his sword in a block position as I expected he would. With at much focus as I could possible could  have I lowered my sword just enough to have it hit right below his sword. The focused I had then reminded me of the focus I had when playing volleyball. My sword was able to lightly hit his abdomen. "Dead end" I said.

The look on his face was like the one of someone who just realized that they would lose a volleyball match. He dropped his sword to the ground. I removed my sword and put it down as well. "Thanks for fighting against me", he said before heading toward a friend who also lost. His friend had orangish blond hair with brown eyes. "Let's go home, Hide." Those were his final words before leaving the exam room.

I decided that I would sit down on a bench that was on the far end of the room for the remainder of the time I was in that room. Some other people where still fighting.

For the remainder of the day I had to take 3 other portions of the test. One was a simple background test. The next was an endurance test where you had to run fifteen miles, and the last was just a plain and simple one on one interview. Although it was tiring, I felt very satisfied once I finished and passed. Shockingly enough only twenty-one of us passed. This included Iwa-chan. We both then began our journey as an exorsist. This leads us to today where we are now partners who defend against Demons, pretty cool right?

However something recently happened. Something changed you can say. I don't know what it is, but I just can't but help get happy anytime I see him. His bright smile that doesn't always show, but when it does brightens me up inside. I feel grateful for every moment with him, even when he is fickle. He is my closest friend I've ever had.
