"Hold onto my arm."
Peter insisted as we began to walk across a river with a rapid current.
He stepped on a rock that was the size of his foot as he extended his hand out towards me.

This river must've been no deeper than 6 inches of water before the storm,
now it's over a foot and a half full of freezing water.

I slipped on a slippery stone, as my hands plummeted into the freezing water.
Making me groan as the ice cold water hit my hands to my upper arms. I slowly stood back up shaking my hands and slowly adjusting my feet in the cold water, "I'll manage just fine by myself,
thank you."

Peter scoffed grabbing my arm and pulling me onto a larger red rock beside his,
"Your mind is playing tricks on you, it's not your fault. We're crossing a dangerous part of Neverland-"

"Don't worry about me. I'm not your problem, remember?"

I declared hopping to another rock close to mine. Balancing myself with extending my arms out trying to find my center.
The only thing keeping me going was the thought of Isak. I hadn't even seen his face, but he must've been my home.

I rush of pain shot through my body as my legs shook from the cold water that splashed onto me from the rocks around me.

Peter stepped into the water as if the coldness didn't bother him.

Everytime his legs would emerge from the water it would be dry. Only the hem of his pants had a little water on it.Probably because he was a magical being, maybe to show dominance.

"You have eyes but you don't see, not anymore. There's a reason why,"

in the middle of Peters sentence I began to fall of the rock until he grabbed my wrist with his right hand and guiding me with his left hand on my lower back across the rocks,

"I designed this island. So that any mortal or any human can't survive it without help. My boys aren't helpful young lads, and neither am I. I just.. owe you. Until I can take you home."

I glared at him as he helped me hop 3 feet across the cold water that his feet were in, he must have pretty good balance, "Can't you just teleport or put me on a boat on my way home? Or do I have to fight -"

He scoffed as he let go of me as I hoped onto the muddy mulch on the ground, "Not as simple as you think little mouse. You aren't fighting anyone, not in your state. It's like sending out a wounded animal to a lion. You want it to fight for survival, to win. Not for it to be a easy kill. Thrill of the hunt."

I sat on the ground bringing my legs close to my chest, trying to run away the cold and stinging feeling on my legs and hands,

"I can take care of myself, let alone prove myself." I said shivering as my teeth chattered.

Peter knelt down, examining my legs, placing his right hand over my eyes. A rush of calmness came over my body, I looked down at my legs and was astonished at what I saw.
The boots and pants had no trace of water on it, let alone my hands.
How?,

"Look at the river, shallow waters that lead to the ocean. Neverland is like the Dark Forest, which you probably don't know or remember. You lived outside the Dark Forest, more like were surrounded by it. You weren't scared of it, but acknowledged it. It uses your fear against you.

That water that you probably saw wasn't there. "

I looked up at him with my tired eyes, "What do you want from me?"

I pressed my hands onto the dirt as the muddy mulch covered my hands.   As I stood up on my shaky legs, only to make me fall into Peters chest.

Grabbing my arm he guided my arm around his lower back helping me walk as static filled my legs,
