Dean
First day of the rest of my life, right? you think. Looking around the room you were just led into, your nerves just intensify. You don't know anyone. You didn't make any friends on the train. You sat in a carriage with two boys, Dean and Benny was it? Might as well start learning names, anyways. They're going to be with you for the next seven years.
You shift as Professor McGonagall, as she introduced herself starts calling people to get sorted.
"Bradbury, Charlene." the woman calls and a short, red haired girl walks up to the stool to be sorted. She looks nice. Maybe we'll be in the same house. you barely have time to finish your thought when one of the boys you sat with earlier, Dean, was pushed into you.
"Watch it-" he whispers harshly until he recognizes you, "Oh. I'm sorry, that was me."
"It's alright," you nod. You look over to see Charlene running over to the Hufflepuff table. You turned back to Dean and smiled at him, "I'm Y/N."
"My name's Dean Winchester," he smiles back. "I guess we've never really talked, so..."
"Yeah." you say and turn your attention back to the sorting ceremony.
"Y/L/N, Y/N." McGonagall calls and you give the boy next to you one last smile before walking up the small set of stairs. The elder puts the old, worn hat on your head and it exclaims. It mutters to itself for a few moments before calling out its final decision.
"Gryffindor!"
You look to the cheering table and walk over and sit down. The people around you immediately start introducing themselves and making friends. You talks quietly, making friends with the new kids that come over after you, but look back when you hear the name
"Winchester, Dean."
It was pretty quiet since Dean was one of the last one's to be sorted. Soon the hat straightened out and called its decision.
"Gryffindor!"
Once again, the table erupts in applause. Dean immediately finds you and plops down next to you on the bench.
"Y/L/N." He smiles cheekily.
"Winchester." You roll your eyes. Oh boy.
Sam
You patiently waited your turn to be sorted into your house. You already knew where you were going to go, not that you minded. You had some friends in Slytherin already because of your family, but you didn't like some of the kids you were forced to hang out with. Some were great; it was much better to just get comfortable in a fluffy chair with a good muggle book or electronic device, which you admit, you enjoy very much.As you looked around, you locked eyes with a boy with shaggy hair and hazel-grey eyes. You smile at each other, but you quickly pull your gaze away when you feel a blush rush up your neck. After a few more kids get sorted, Professor McGonagall calls a name that interests you.
"Winchester, Samuel."
"It's just Sam," he quietly informs her on his way up and she apologizes.
"Yeah! Go, Sammy!" You hear a deep voice call from behind you and quickly turn to see a tall green eyed boy standing at the Gryffindor table along with his group. McGonagall gives Sam's brother, or who you can only assume is Sam's brother by their looks and the way the older one just called out for him, a look, and he puts his hands up defensively.
It doesn't take long of the Sorting Hat going back and forth between a few houses to come to a final decision.
"Ravenclaw!"
Sam's brother blinks a second, before laughing it off and calling out again, "Still better than Slytherin, hey Sammy?" The hall erupts with laughter from about half of the room, some smile uncomfortably at the upperclassman's jab at the house, and some look mad. A few even look close to tears. You look over at Sam who was now sitting at Ravenclaw table, seeing that he did laugh at his brother's joke, albeit maybe uncomfortably, but he encouraged it. So now you were in the small group looking down at their shoes, trying to blink tears out of their eyes, not to embarrass themselves.
"Sit down, Winchester!" Professor Slughorn, the head of Slytherin house stood from his place at the table, quieting the laughter.
After a few more students are sorted, you are called.
"Ah, yes," the Sorting Hat mumbles. "Another Y/L/N. I know exactly where to put you. You'll do amazing things one day. You're a good one; resourceful, trustworthy, ambitious, patient. In fact- yes, Hufflepuff could be good for you... but where you belong-"
"Slytherin!"
The hat announces, taking you out of your thoughts. As you made your way over to your table, you found Sam once again. He looked away guiltily immediately as your eyes found his. You shook it off and smiled, walking over to your table and sitting with your best friend.
Castiel
You stood my the train to Hogwarts, your new school, a school of wizardry, saying goodbye to your two little brothers. "Goodbye Sammy, Goodbye Dean!"You pull Dean, the middle child, into a tight hug, telling him that you'll send him an owl as soon as you get settled in. You then take your youngest brother Sam from your father's arms, holding him one last time until the next time you go home for holiday, and give him a light kiss. You give you father, John, a quick hug, knowing he's not one for touching, then nod to him, silently telling him your farewells. You grab your things as well as the travel crate with your kitten, and get on the train.
You walk down the carriages seeing that most of the compartments were full of friends, people who already know each other. Sadly, you knew no one. Your family moved around a lot. The only other wizard you ever knew was your uncle Bobby, who went to Hogwarts with your father.
You saw a compartment with a boy your age sitting, reading a book. You knocked on the glass door before opening it. The boy looked up at you with striking blue eyes and black hair that was all over the place. "Hi, my name's Y/N," you said smiling at him.
He returned the smile and put him book in his lap. "My name is Castiel."
"May I sit?" you asked, pointing to the bench across from him.
"Of course," he nodded.

You and Castiel had talked the whole train ride up, about his family (he had a lot of brothers and sisters) and your family, how your little brother Dean would be joining them at Hogwarts next year and they'd really get along and how smart Sam was for being so young.
You sat together on the boats to get to the castle and he held your hand walking into the great hall so you didn't get separated. You watched as lots of kids got sorted into their houses, making sure to remember as many names and faces as you could. Soon your name is called by the head of Gryffindor house, Professor McGonagall. You sit down on the stool in front of the entire school and some of the students smile at you reassuringly.
"Yes, I know exactly where you belong. It shall be...
Hufflepuff !"
You smile and make your way to your table. Your housemates hug you and give you welcoming pats on the back. You look back up at the sorting ceremony, waiting for your new friend to have his turn. You both decided on the train that no matter what houses you were sorted in, you'd be friend no matter what, but you were still hoping that Castiel would get sorted into your house.
"Novak, Castiel."
You perked up at your friend's name, watching the tall boy take his turn walking up to the stool, sitting, and having the sorting hat placed on his head. After almost three whole minutes, almost close to a hatstall, but finally the hat shouted his decision.
"Hufflepuff !"
You stand and cheer along with the rest of your house. When he sees you, you quickly hug him before pulling him down next to you on the bench.
