London, 1890, the capital of the world, with its height of modernity and the hiss of steam and smell of coal in the air. But it was also the great cesspool into which all the sinners and criminals of the Empire drained.

A police carriage hurdles down the cobbled street, on a serious pursuit. Inside the carriage were several big, uniformed officers assembling their weapons, Inspector Lestrade sits among them. But one man, that's sits with the uniformed officers, stands out among them wearing only plainclothes and had a more pensive air about him, a thinking man of action. Dr John Watson.

Outside the carriage, a figure of a man runs behind the carriage then takes a turn down an alley, taking a short cut. While a figure of a woman was running along the rooftops of buildings. Sherlock Holmes bursts out of the alley, sprints round a corner and runs across the courtyard of St. Paul's Cathedral to a side door. He enters through the door and stands at the top of a stairwell but withdraws into the shadows of the doorway as he sees a bolder hatted man ascends the stairs, carrying a lantern and a gun.

'Head cocked to the left.

Partial deafness in ear.

First point of attack

Two.Throat. Paralysed vocal cords. Stop screaming.

Three. Got to be a heavy drinker. Knuckles to liver.

Four. Finally, drag the left leg. First the patella.

Summary prognosis:

Conscious in ninety seconds.

Martial efficacy: quarter of an hour at best.

Full faculty of recovery, unlikely.'

Holmes thought threw his plan as the man walks through the doorway. Holmes pulls his jacket up to conceal himself as the man walks in looks around the corner Holmes was hiding in.  After looking at the corner the man turns around, his back to Holmes. Holmes decides now is the right time to attack and he bursts out of the shadows, and begins his attack on the man.

Hammer blow to the ear, karate chop to the throat, and knuckle punch to the liver.

The man crumbles to the ground and Holmes takes his bowler hat from his head and flips it onto his own in one fast movement. He grabs the lantern from the unconscious man and proceeds down the spiral staircases.

Afterwhile, Holmes makes it down to the crypts of the cathedral. He walks along the balcony as he surveys a chilling sight. A woman, dressed in white, lies inside a pentacle, lit with candles at each corner. Her eyes rolled back in her head, trance-like. A sword was placed at her feet. A hooded figure stands before the pentacle and begins to chant in Latin.

A man sees Holmes and slowly walks up to him but before he could do anything he was grabbed around the neck by Watson, who begins to strangle the man. "I like the hat." Watson whispered to Holmes. "I just picked it up." Holmes replied.

"You remember your revolver?" Watson asked him. Holmes thinks for a moment before saying.

"Oh, knew I'd forgotten something. I thought I'd left the stove on."

"You did." Watson replied as he grips the man's neck tighter.

"I think that's quite enough. You're a doctor, after all." Holmes said as he pinches the man's nose and the man slips into unconsciousness and falls back. After letting the man go, Holmes and Watson stand up and Holmes holds his hand out towards his old friend. "Always nice to see you, Watson." He said and the two shake hands.
