"More coal, Doctor." Captain Tanner shouted as Watson shovels more coal in the furnace of the boat. Watson let's out a sigh as you walk up and grab another shovel.
"No, (y/n). You don't need to be doing this." Watson said.
"It doesn't bother me Watson. I don't mind helping." You said and you begin to shovel in the coal.
"So, what happened the other day....after I left?" He asked as you look over and see Holmes talking to the captain. You turn back to Watson and then explain everything that happend in the last twenty four hours.
After listening and shoveling a few minutes Watson looks up and asked. "Holmes, are you sure that there is no alternative means of water transportation, than that?"
"I guarantee you nobody knows London's waterways better. Tanners practically a fish himself." Holmes replied as you look over at Tanner and see him drinking a bottle of alcohol.
"At least he certainly drinks like one." You replied, snarkly.
"Oh you've found a sense of humor, Miss (l/n)." Tanner said as he downs the drink.
Finally the boat stops at the edge of land and you and the boys jump down off the side and begin to walk in Queenshithe Slaughter House.
Shadow on shadow, metal groaning softly like a plaintive wail. The twisted blades of slaughterhouse instruments glimmer in the darkness as you and the boys walk through and look around the building. 'This is truly creepy' You thought to yourself as the three of you see a room up ahead and it seemed eerily familiar. "Look familiar?" You asked Holmes as you entered that area.
All around you it was the same lab like area that Reordan had at his place. "Yep." Holmes replied as you three look around and notice the tables were empty. Holmes runs his fingers along the edge of the table and said. "They cleared something away from here. Not minutes ago."
"Like what?" Watson asked.
"I'm not sure. Something mechanical." Holmes replied. You walk off to the side and see a set of doors.
Curious, you walk closer to it and open them, what you see is a sight that sent shivers down your spine.
A massive space with a maze of machinery full of deadly gears and blades and saws, lifeless and silent. Huge hooks hang from chain belts on a I-beam, the ceiling, swaying softly. "Holmes. You need to see this." You shouted and the boys walk over to you and see the massive killing floor.
The three of you walk in and look around the place then you see on the high walls a huge number has been scrawled: 118. "One eighteen." You said as you point at it. "Chapter and verse." Watson muttered. "Revelations. 1:18. I am he that giveth and was dead." Holmes recited.
"And behold of the life forever more." A booming voice rings out.
The three of you turn around and see Blackwood standing in the rafters. "I warned you, Holmes to accept that this was beyond your control. Beyond what your rational mind could comprehend." Blackwood said.
"What a busy afterlife that you are having." Holmes said, sarcastically.
"I want you to bear witness. Tomorrow, at midday, the world as you know it, will end." Blackwood said and he disappears.
You and the boys run in the direction you saw him leave and ended up leaning against a wooden wall. "Save the bullets, Watson." Holmes warned him as Watson pulls out his gun as well as Holmes. "A gift for you." Blackwood's voice said which sounded really close to the wall behind you three.
Then you and the boys move away from the wall and the boys begin to fire their guns a few times at the wall. When they finished and took a few deep breath, you look at the boys and asked. "What was that about saving bullets?"
