~Chapter Three~

"Jacob..." I said curious and a bit scared.

"Mhmm?" He said while he made his way across the room to my bean bag chair.

"H-how did you get into my house? I mean I'm pretty sure my mom just came home." My mind was going through all of the possibilities... even some that couldn't be true.  Did he break a window? Climb in an open window? Was the back door unlocked?

"Oh, you guys really shouldn't leave the keys under the mat. I mean really? It's pretty obvious." He was now walking over to my bookshelf eye-balling them. I let out a deep breath. One that I didn't know I was holding in. I had totally forgotten about the key under the mat. We also left another spare-spare key somewhere in one of the bushes out front.

"How did you know where I lived? I mean I don't think you live near here... do you?" But wouldn't I notice if he lived near here? Wouldn't I see him around?

"Uh... yeah! I live just a few streets down on Maple Lane. Uh... duh!" He said in a 'where have you been' tone, and smirked. How did I not realize him before? He seemed like one of those cocky, sweet, and outgoing kinds of people.

I could hear my mom downstairs, putting her purse away in the closet, and putting her keys on the hook. I was pretty sure that she wouldn't come up here. She barely ever checked on what I was doing, or try to start a conversation. Just shows how un-motherly she is.

"Oh..." I said, some-what confused, suprised. I cocked my head to the side, showing my confusion. Jacob let out a little chuckle and shook his head.

"Nats, Nats, Nats. Always so clueless. You know, you give blonds a bad rep!" He continued to shake his head. Jacob made his way to the other side of my bed. I took that opportunity to make my move on him.

I reached out my arm and slapped the back of his head. Apparently he has really fast reflexes, cause as soon as I slapped him, his hand was there to cover his head. While Jacob was occupied covering the back of his head, I took the next opportunity, his ear. Flicking peoples ears has  always been my signature move.

I leaned forward and flicked his ear. That small movement caused him to jump in surprise. His hand went for his ear.

"Ow... that actually hurt," said Jacob. He actually seemed sort of... sad, hurt even. "Since when does a flick on the ear hurt!?"

I laughed, "Um... since always?" I grinned, and did a little head shake, as if saying 'wow, you're so stupid'.

Jacob put his right hand over his chest ans gasped. As if to say, 'that really hurt' or 'you hurt my feelings, Nats'. I started giggling at his childishness.

"Oh quit being such a baby," I said, trying to play with him, and making him feel bad about himself.

"I am not being a baby! If any ones being a baby it's you! You-you slapping-head-ear-flicker-er... er...er..." He trailed off like that, not knowing how to end the 'ers'. I questioning expression crossed his face. I giggled even more. He cocked his head to the side, which made him look like a lost puppy or something like that.

"NO! You baby! Who's a baby? Jake is!" To show my victory I stuck my tongue out at him, and put my hands on my hips.

"Am not!"

"Are too!" I screeched.

We went on and on like that for minutes. And as we were, the sun outside was setting. The sky started to turn to different shades of purple, blue, pink, and orange. The light got dimmer and dimmer, causing Jake's hair to look darker than it was before. His eyes too. Making it look like a darker shade of blue. He looked so damn cute.
