So, we watched Anthony grow throughout the years. We raised him like our own. He kept asking questions about his parents,  and we continued to make up more stories... we knew it wasn't right, but we wanted to protect him from the truth. But all the stories stopped, when a certain letter was delivered to the house; addressed to Anthony...

"Anthony! There's a letter here for you!" I called from the kitchen, while making some tea. The letter looked very old...but maybe it was just damaged on the way here.

Anthony, came strolling in with a big smile on his face. He rarely ever got mail, but I guess today was an exception; It was his 16th birthday today after all! "What's the occasion?" He said with a bit of sarcasm.

"I don't know, why don't you open it up?" I poured myself some tea. Anthony clasped the letter in his hands and started ripping the top of the envelope carefully. When it was open, he gently pulled out the letter, it read:

My dearest Anthony, We are sorry that we never were around as you grew up. You see, when your father and I went to tend the fields that summer morning, we were confronted by a statue.A living statue. By the time we realized that it  was no ordinary statue, it was too late. It touched us, and we were sent back to 1907, NewYork! NewYork!! When we realized that we'd never see you again, we were devastated. But we had to move on with our lives, so both your father and I became teachers.By the time you get this letter we'll be long gone, but we want you to know that we're happy. We hope that you found a nice couple to look after you, since we have no relatives that could take you. Live a wonderful life find a wife, have a child, and just enjoy it...

                                                                                                                                      -Your loving parents,

                                                                                                                                         Margret and Joseph

I noticed that his hands were shaking as he put the letter down. The smile had long disappeared from his face, and tears were forming in his eyes. I was just about to ask him what was wrong, but he stormed off to his room; slamming the door.

I picked up the letter, and read it myself. Now I knew why he was so upset.... this was going to take a lot of...and I don't know if I'm ready.
