"That was hard." I say as we managed to tie Buck in the cross ties.
"Yeah." Chase says.
"Ok, let's get going with brushing him." I said.
"Good idea." Chase said.
"Get the brush closer to him on an angle where he can see. And put it in front of his nostrils." I tell Chase.
"Like this?" He asks as he puts the brush in front of Buck so he can smell it.
"Yes. That's perfect." I tell him.

2 hours later.
"That's enough work for him for today." I tell Chase.
"Ok." He simply says. "How about keeping the rest of the day for us?"
"Sure." I say as I move closer to him.
Chase put his hands on my waist and started to pull me closer. That's when I noticed we were right in front of Buck. Before I had time to move, he bit my bare arm.
I screamed in pain and Chase pulled me away from Buck.
"Thanks." I manage to say under gritted teeth.
"Are you all right? Let me get some disinfectant and a bandage." He says.
"Let's go to the house, there are some bandages and disinfectant." I say, still clutching my arm.
"I'll carry you." Chase put an arm under my legs and one behind my back and lifted me up. I leaned my head into his chest and started crying a bit.
Before I knew it, we were in the house.
"Let's get this thing cleaned up." Chase said.
I looked at my arm and grimaced. There was blood everywhere. Chase cleaned the blood off.
"Iodine and bandages in the washroom." I said as Chase lay me down on the sofa. He went into the wash room and came back out with a bottle of iodine and a bandage.
I grimaced in pain as the iodine stung my arm.
"Sorry." Chase said.
"It's all right. It's normal that it stings a bit." I say, feeling a bit weak from the loss of blood.
Chase bandaged my arm. He bent down to kiss my forehead and the got up.
"That's all I get?" I ask in a weak voice.
He shook his head and smiled. Then he bent down and kissed me, on the lips this time.
"I love you." I whisper and then I close my eyes and fall asleep.
"I love you too." I heard Chase say very faintly.
