Dear Diary,
Dad left this morning and never came back. I wonder if he's just coming back later tonight. I really hope that he comes back soon cause mom won't stop crying. Maybe if he comes back she will smile and we will all be happy and live as a normal family again.
Before he left this morning, he gave me this book and colored pencils. I think he wanted me to draw with this but as a way of trying to make him come back, I'll write in it.
I thought that with one of them gone the house would be quiet because no one is yelling but I can hear my mom crying with my door closed. I really hope it can stop too because it makes me want to cry. I just want dad to come home. I want us to be happy. Please come home soon.
~Nagisa
P.S. to my eight-year-old self: You're an idiot.

Nagisa tapped her pencil on her desk in boredom as she stared out the window. She seemed to resemble the sky with her baby blue hair. The smell of cherry blossoms was sent through the open window which masked the smell of chalk.
"-isa. Nagisa!" Her teacher caught onto the fact that her attention wasn't on the board. "Please tell me what was the answer to the problem we just solved." Nagisa's eyes widened in surprise. She wasn't paying attention to the lesson at all.
Before she could admit she didn't know, a notebook was shoved into the air behind the teacher's back. A little green-haired girl pointed to the number that was sloppily written in pen. "52?" Nagisa answered with some uncertainty in her voice. She wasn't sure if she read the paper right.
The teacher's face turned into a grin as he began to pat her head. "I was worried you weren't paying attention, you see. I wanted to make sure you knew what we were doing." Out of all of her teachers, Korosensei was her favorite. Not because of his striking looks, but because he was able to help every student. "I was so worried you weren't paying attention to me because you wouldn't stop staring at the window."
Once Korosensei made his way back to the front of the classroom, Nagisa quickly wrote in her notebook while his back was turned. I owe you one.
Kayano took her pen and scribbled furiously. Pudding after school. You pay.
Nagisa winced as she remembered the last time she had to pay. She didn't have enough money to eat lunch for a week. As long as I can cut you off. Nagisa decided after thinking.
Kayano's face lit up as she had to turn to the next page in order to have room to write. Deal.
Nagisa could only sigh as she looked into her wallet. Why do I have a feeling that I'm still going to end up broke either way? Nagisa thought in sorrow.

"The day's finally over!" Kayano exclaimed as she stretched her arms to the sky. "Now for pudding! P-U-D-D-I-N-G!" Kayano sang as she rushed to her friend's desk.
As Nagisa was putting all of her books away, another person stood by her desk. "You guys are going for pudding?" Tomohito Sugino asked.
Nagisa zipped up her bag before slinging it over her shoulder. "Yeah, I owe her," Nagisa responded with a sigh.
